anyone think Raonic too big tomorrow at 13/8 to beat Fed?  Step too far for Fed tomorrow after his emotional 5 setter where Cilic was awful closing it out?  Changing of the guard on the lawns?  Can't help but think this should be a lot closer to a flip than it is on current grass form/ages of the players.

Quarter final line up would suggest the first week rain is suiting the big servers still and the courts maybe playing faster than usual than the last few years.

Following Cheltenham, The Masters, and Royal Ascot, we must be fast approaching the fourth and final leg of The Mere Novice Majors.

Hopefully The Mere Novice Open Championship Competition is about to hove into view on the horizon at any moment.

As a past winner of this, count me IN.

I think Mr Mere has to await the basket of markets being formed & published (likely to be Monday?) before he can proceed further.

He's also been very busy updating, redesigning & updating the capacity of other spreadsheets.

http://www.oddschecker.com/basketball/nba/golden-state-warriors/regular-season-wins

365 have joined the GS circus pricing up next seasons reg season wins.  If anyone fancies stealing 20% on their ISA with interest rates close to falling to 0% the 1/5 they offer under 73.5 wins next season is literally stealing money.  They priced it up originally at 67.5 (which is probably spot on imo) but got caught up in an arbing/middling war with the irish jokers who were still trading the 70.5 and have now over reacted massively and moved the win total to 73.5.  This is literally stealing money even at 1/5 for the same reasons as given the other day.  Anyone having any ante post bets on the football with bet365 i would be sticking this in each bet (settles next April for clarity) for a 20% bonus on your returns.

Add Chicago at 66/1 to the portfolio with sportingbet if you can get it.  They just signed a couple of decent players in free agency and shouldn't be this price anymore.

Wade and our old assist mate Rondo both joined the bulls in the last few days.

He usually puts the thread up exactly a week before each event and I am accustomed to setting my watch by his punctuality.

There's a sixes bet in the Glamorgan match tonight.

Over 9.5 Coral @ 11/10
Under 11 B365 @ 1.80

So -3.08%. Weather should be ok in Cardiff.

I'm traveling down to watch the Somerset game now and will be able to cheer the following bet on for that match:

Over 9.5 888/UB @ 1.87
Under 11.5 Coral @ 8/13

Two chances to scoop.

I'm afraid it's raining in Somerset, but it seems to be passing. Hope there's no reduction in overs as there's no floodlights down here.

We are considering not doing the open competition this year. Been a huge number of competitions recently, with quite the commitment for mere, yet with lower numbers of entries, so maybe some time off is appropriate .

It would be a shame to lose one of our regular well-supported competitions which has been running for years.

Nobody appreciates the efforts of Mere Novice more than I do but I fear that in this instance "we" have got our wires crossed.

There's no wires crossed. Mere, tikay and i have discussed it this week. There was discussion about not doing it. It's up to mere and knowing him he will do it but it's a lot of work for only 10-15 people to enter

Just having a gander about The Open prices on oddschecker and interestingly laddies are ducking Monty.

I remember when laddies ducking something used to be a tip..

Having seen Raonic get taken apart time and time again by the big boys who return his serve with interest I won't be touching him. When I see him running around his backhand I just want to poke him with a cattle prod. I'd love to see Federer have a last Wimbledon final.
