Arb the grass court specialist, vwp.  Once the plunge came for Raonic during the queens final the 18/1 was well gone as the firms went into panic mode.  It was either the Monday or Tuesday that Raonic was back at 18/1, one firm going 20/1 with the same e/w terms.  Quite surprised nobody put it back up on here.

Newport grass tomorrow so your work is not yet over.

Tennis should only be played on grass IMO.  Wimbledon is so far ahead of the other slams in pure class you just can't even measure it.  They have kept all the traditions but moved with the times.  There are no Kia sponsors presenting the trophy like at the Aussie, no hicks in the crowd shouting and balling constantly like in Paris and the yanks just always try to make things bigger and better than Wimbledon but they never get that less is more.

Newport just reminds me of Canadian Greg who used to mop up there after failing at sw17 each year.  Just looked at the draw pretty shocking field worse than Nottingham.  No reason for Fred to not double up on the top seed Johnson surely?  I haven't seen any prices but he must be shorter for this than Nottingham right?

I think tennis fans have their fav slams and valid reasons why.  I have to agree with the sponsor side of things, players feeling obliged to thank the likes of KIA after working their arse off for four hours in 90 degrees heat, lot of nonsense really. Personally I prefer the us open/aus open as the night sessions add a little extra which you don't have at the other two.  The French open tv coverage is really poor, they often come back after commercials during points and break away from a 4th rd deciding 5th set just to watch djoko warm up for his next straight sets victory.  I think the bbc coverage becomes really good once the likes of Watson, Bedene, Robson and Edmund are eliminated.

I have just noticed sky sports are not covering the us open, have BT taken over?

I don't consider the French a slam tbh I just can't stand clay court tennis.  It is so zzzzzzzzzz.  The masters events in USA in March on both coasts are both bigger to me than the French open.  I just hate the French crowd and how disrespectful they are generally.  Apart from a couple of idiots in the couple today wanting to be famous the crowd must be a total pleasure to play in front of at Wimbledon for the players whatever country they are from.  Raonic played some incredible stuff today and just run into Murray right at the top of his game.  It reminded me of Murray in his first final just being blinded by the sheer class of who he was playing and being a little in awe.  What goes around comes around.

Wimbledon can't do the night session because of the dew on the grass without closing the roof which changes the event to an indoor event otherwise they would do it IMO as they move with the times in every sense.

Bbc coverage of Wimbledon is as good as it gets for any sporting event IMO.  Just get rid of inverdale castle Austin and davenport.  What is the obsession with yank birds at Wimbledon by the bbc.  Hewitt great addition this year could be a main event duo with Henman for years for me.  Great England Aussie banter and analysis at the same time.  Posh boy v boy from the street.  Just a great contrast.  They work around boris and macs other commitments to still get them into the scene on top of all the other quality presenters they have.

Sky just can't afford U.S. open after epl TV rights went through the roof I think . They only rented it from Eurosport from what I have read and it will still be on Eurosport this year.  Bt sport only have the women's tour.  No rights to the men's at all.

I did do the tennis for firms full time between 2003-6 just in case anyone just thinks I am a total guesser sticking a pin in and a blind squirrel found a couple of nuts! Grin

I knew BT didn't have the atp stuff but figured they may try and step in with sky passing on it.  I doubt Wimbledon would even go with the night sessions even if they could do it, wasn't their controversy a few years ago when they played on until 11pm? Transport issues? I could be wrong.  It is a strange one with all the yank females involved so heavily with the bbc coverage.  I kind of like listening to Jim Courier as a co-commentator:

If this euro final doesn't go to pens, good spot, read your post earlier when mentioning the 365 guy saying the outright still refunded on penalty shoot out loss, I thought it was pre tourney bets only, 101% book between them and the other Irish firm 20 min prior to this game.

Betbright apparently offering 6/4 for France to lift trophy. Looks like Portugal are 13/8 on 365

There is a council licensing issue with Wimbledon at night.  They have to be finished by a certain time for crowd issues.  Night games will never happen and in some ways it is what makes Wimbledon great no music no yank razzamatazz just proper tennis.  They do what they do well.  You know when every player says this is the pinnacle of tennis they mean it.  When they say it at the U.S. Open you know they are lying.  No one grows up dreaming of winning the U.S. Open as a kid

Don't thinkn there is any value in that given he was 7/1 at Nottingham.  He should be shorter but not sure he should be that much shorter.  Karlovic and bag as other top 4 seeds though show how weak the field is.  Easy ranking points to mop up.

This could be a very expensive final for 365. Bore draw offer already weighed in on the 0-0 then a refund on a pen shoot out loser outright,  sure they will still win on the coup but it isn't ideal.

Must be sweating already with France in the final and Griezmann golden boot?
