In somewhat uplifting news the 4.5/7/2 has all gone on betty so peripatetic perambulatory puntering will be required in the morning should against all known trends my footie recommendation is accepted.

I'm sure you boys are deliberately seeking out Ladbrokes stuff so I have to go walkies.

Walking boots at the ready.

Rare I have a view on a match price but agree with this.

Having seen psg this season they look a little in transition and the loss of ibra and Luiz has hit them hard.

Not so much just for their abilities but they were both big personalities and have not been replaced.

We can at last put the China bet to bed, after a grim draw against Belarus.

The team really never got going. I'd hoped it would be a slow start and a strong finish, but sadly not. It was a slow start and a reverse finish. Yuk.

The USA are leading with a round to go. Doubtless to jubilant battlecries, exhortations and ejaculations from the crowd:

"Get in the Kingside!"
"You the man, Nakamura"

They are, however, joint leaders with the Ukraine. Having already played each other, the US take on Canada and the Ukraine play Slovenia. Both will be favourites, so it'll come down to tie break scores if they both do what the ratings say they should. At the moment, the Americans have the edge there.

For Norway, Magnus Carlsen has played some unusual openings in this tournament, probably to get his opponents out of their prepared lines, as he's more likely to win comfortably and not fall into any planned traps.

Not many were expecting him to do this in Round 9 against the USA's Fabiano Caruana, though. Certainly not USA board 2, Hikaru Nakamura, whose face did this when he saw Magnus's Scandinavian defence:

Yes, Scandinavian. Norway. It's possible it was deliberate.

A quick word for 15 year old Anton Smirnov of Australia, whose performance in this tournament has earned him what he needed to become the country's youngest Grandmaster.

Never mind, but I've loved the reports.

The "little girl" with the mean stare, how is she getting on?

Excellent photo, this, said it all....

I'll put up one (potentially two) for Wed v Bristol tonight. I think we should stake small on City/Wednesday and City/Draw on /FT, they are 28/1 and 16/1.

We still seem to be struggling to get going early and results this season have showed that, not once leading at half time, so looks like the same old from last season. City look a decent team and fully expect Wednesday to not be wining at half time

It's most unusual for me to suggest a bet on Arsenal to win for several reasons, including both my rose-tinted specs and the fear of bokking.

However I feel surprisingly confident about tomorrow's visit to Paris for the opening game of our CL campaign as they have had a poor start to their season, being booed off by their supporters after each of the last two games and semingly looking somewhat rudderless after losing their figurehead striker Ibra. I feel that we can do a job on them and get a result there and have taken some 7/2(4.5). I think 10/3 or better is a great price.

I recommend that our peripatetic punterer sticks £30 on Arsenal to win tomorrow @ 10/3 with ladyboys.

Yo Ralph.

Seems that Tighty is busy elsewhere with work duties.

Don't want to tread on his toes, but was ready & raring to waddle up to Lads this morning once he had ruminated & decided.

However, they now seem to be 14/5 with Shouty Red Man. Best prices available to Fred are 3/1, which remains available with WH & Betty Exchange.

You suggested "100/30 or better" would be a great price.

Still a Recommend for £30 @ 3/1 or has the jolly old boat left harbour?

I think the price is a lot closer to being correct now Tony.

Maybe so, yeah. Anyway, good luck with that slip of paper that has 7/2 written on it. Nice spot.

Three places each way widely available for the Singapore GP

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/singapore-grand-prix/winner

Given mercedes difficulties last year there, and the street circuit/high downforce/heat/mercedes in traffic combination minimising the advantages of the mercedes power unit (albeit they are talking having solved their set up difficulties there last year that saw them qualify 1.5 secs down on Vettel and finish off the podium) and suiting red bull in particular (only a slow pit stop meant that Ricciardo didn't beat Mercedes in Monaco) it should be a three team battle and there are some juicy prices out there.

eg you can get nearly 2/1 Vettel each way and only 13/8 top three finish

I pm'd tikay about this at the weekend.  I have already bacled alonso, perez and button each way.  The track should suit the mclarens now they are less fragile.  The solid performance of the red bulls historically shows power doesn't matter much.  Singapore is very prone to heavy rain too.

365 laid me small amounts.  Hills referred and limitted me to 2 each way on alonso, so i stopped.  I tried boyles, just for fun, and it was pennies.

I think if you can get 10er e/w on all those 3 with hills (alonso, button are 200/1. Perez 250/1) you are getting great bets.  I'd go as far as to say they are amongst the very best bets I have had all year. I have my suspicions that it lead to hills keeping a watch on me.

Hi Lisa,

Not seen one in my locale, but I shall be passing one somewhere up in the grimy north tomorrow morning, though it is some 220 miles from home.
