Serena Willians is 1.61/1.62 to beat Konta tonight. Wimbledon prices are 7/4 and 25/1 respectively.
These prices seem massively inconsistent.
I think Konta must still be value for Wimbledon, but is Serena value tonight? If you break down Serena's price, it can't be that far off Serena to beat Konta is the same price as her winning both the Semi and Final afterwards. Pliskova is 14/1 for Wimbledon for instance.
I haven't watched a minute of the birds aussie open but i would say two things. Serenas biggest edge is her serve on grass. Secondly she definitely isn't a first time out horse who is fully wound up for the first major of the year. She def needs to play her way into peak fitness even more so the older she gets. Also she has just got engaged so i can't imagine she is fully focused in the off season this season fwiw.
All that said it does seem a big fucking price!
I really don't like covering bets, but couldn't resist at this price. I was expecting her to be less than 1.5.
She is one of the greatest ever male or female but i have spent 10 years watching her just thinking she thinks 'i can serve at 132mph and no one else can and i don't really need to stick it in and follow the tour and just turn up and mop up slams'. I might be wrong but she is just a physical freak but getting engaging in the off season at her age really might make her liable to an upset. I am amazed how well she has aged although sport in general seems to be aging well in the last 10 years. Can anyone believe Joe Perry is the same age as Ronnie and me barring a year or so. I thought Joe Perry was 50!
Guess that happens when you have to graft the exhibition circuit for wages
When my old man had the club, Perry used to do 400pt start over 8 frames, and if your 8 players beat him on aggregate the night was free.
Will have to check, but I'm pretty sure it was only a monkey.

That's no excuse i have been touring the 'exhibition circuit' for wages since i started!!!! I never made the big time. Perry must be wondering how the fuck he is smoking it at 42 financially. 15 years ago you were washed up even if your name was Davies or Hendry at 42.

Cannot see it on the spreadsheet
They won at Sheffield Utd tonight, and are up to 4th. Still 8 points behind, but with a game in hand.
Still available at 66's. Surely, they should be much shorter than that?

Five years ago I'd have punted a chunk by now. This time, pretty much nothing. Impossible to bet on with all the twists, plus the utter clowns that fill the house days.
Channel 5 have a pool of about 50 z-listers and boy do they like to use them! Be a whole bunch of spinoffs featuring the likes of Krazy Kim, Bianca etc too. They had a good thing and royally fked it up.

Am pretty sure we are on them,. yes.
EDIT - WE have £15 EW @ 50/1 on Fleetwood.
Bizarre that we got on at 50/1 & they are 66/1 now though.
Shared a few tables with Shaz tonight. She blamed you for getting busted.

Congrats. Nearly my 10000th post as well. I have caused a lot of the heart ache and caused a lot of the profits on TFT. It would be nice if we could all put some water under the bridge and move on. My way of saying sorry to the boys i have pissed off. I am happy to do it if everyone else is. TFT is blonde nowadays. Let's use the 5th bday to kick start it.

Must have missed this at the start of the season. I almost put them up tonight but forgot about it. They are on a hot streak at the moment and I was pretty surprised to see 7/1 available for tonight's game.
I'd far rather have them than Bradford City (my team). Unfortunately it us the usual jokers with the big prices. PP and bf sportsbook both limited me to win £100 at 80/1. Shy were a little more generous at 66/1 laying to lose 500. That suggests a ckean account could get more on.
I don't know how real the 12/1 on stars is for them to get promoted (I couldn't find it), but even 7/1 looks a very good price.
Quick update on Konta. Woke in the middle of the night to see her steamrollered a bit in the last few games by Serena (so to answer myself 1.61 was a good price). Konta was still trying to hit winners. I am sure she is still on an upward curve and the prices we have on her for later in the season are very very good. If she could just get in the other half from Serena.
Happy birthday Fred.

Ha, she was right to blame you then. To be fair, she had a nice O8 hand, but got called by a newbie who had all paint & no ace, but he pinged the board hard.
Now then, you got any thoughts on Super Bowl? We are very interested in the sub-markets. I know you are a little hesitant to put stuff up, but the days of snarly retorts are gone, & I know you have a deep knowledge of NFL. So let's be having you.

Not much about on the prop bets. Pp seem to have the yards up already though not that it helps the thread at alll. TD scorer prices are out. But unsurprisingly quite stingy. Austin Hooper at 15/4 is the only bigger one that's even a slight interest. Even then not great.
Can't see any defensive player getting MVP this time around. Going to be too many points scored for that. Unfortunately that probably means Brady or Ryan at 10/11 and 15/8.
Going to be interesting to see how Bellichek deals with Atlanta. There's no one way of stopping them.
Marty B set at 42.5. Gotta be unders.
I'll leave everyone else to the 'unique' bets
Oh. And happy birthday to the thread

Fleetwood.
Vardy was going to Arsenal and Fleetwood were getting 25% of it, whioch would quadruple their playing budget.
Vardy probably wishes he had gone and we have a bet for the wrong reasons that has a shot going into February.
Funny old game
