I think if you said he was playing against a not so good federer a year or so ago I would agree.  The play of fed this last week has been immense, he looks as sharp and as good as ever.  In my opinion the head to head domination isn't surprising when you think about it, Stan was In the shadow of fed for years and still is in many ways, they were good friends and Stan never played his A game when they faced each other, I wouldn't call it fear, he just seemed to stay in his shell when they played, Stan gets himself pumped up in matches and never did this v fed.  Other obvious reasons were fed was the top dog and Stan has only begun to realise how good he is, since Magnus Norman installed this belief in him.  He believes when he plays to his max he can destroy the players put in front of him but only seems to do this once per year, he has pulled off 1 slam in each of the last 3 years, one more and he amazingly overtakes murray.  Advantage federer, just.  Stan all day on a clay court.

I'm interested to know if people think the 2/1 on Rotherham v Barnsley is right? I know Rotherham are poor, does it factor in the loss of 3 star players at Barnsley?

Anyone got any thoughts on the Oscars?

I have noticed that you can get a 'Will The Same Movie Win Both The Best Director And Best Picture Oscar? 'Yes' market at 1/2 with B-win, when the best individual prices are 1/4 (picture, La La Land) and 1/7 (director, La La Land again)

Not my cup of tea but looks set to clean up.

I have to say that I thought La La Land was dreadful but yeah, it swept the Golden Globes and will probably do the same at the Oscars.
The only thought I had about the Oscars was that La La Land had 2 nomininations in the Best Song category. I was thinking that that might well split the vote and another song might creep in? I can't find a market for that though.

I refuse to see it cos I know it's 3 hours of my life I'll never get back, but am looking forward to dragging the girlfriend to see T2 this weekend Smiley

By all accounts Casey Affleck is incredible in Manchester By The Sea but alas this hasn't gone even remotely unnoticed by the bookies. Michelle Williams has also been praised for her supporting role but Viola Davis at 1/12 looks to have that market sewn up.

So we'd all lay Federer at that price?

Swansea play Man City away on 5 Feb. You can get 20/1 with Betty Sports Book. Is any team 20/1 in the Premier League? This isn't Eibar at the Nou Camp.

Same bookie is offering 16/1 for Middlesbrough at Spurs. Same principle, although I'm less hot on that one, because Swansea have a goalscorer and seem to be playing for their manager.

£15 and £10 respectively if we fancy? Or are the prices likely to drift, if the jollies get backed in further?

I am all over Swansea at the minute.  I think Paul Clement is going to be a very good manager.

Unfortunately betfair sportsbook is hopeless for me and Fred.  I'd happily increase that bet if it wasn't.

Quite apposite that - Fred's first ever bet was on the Oscars.

Camel gave us an Oscar "Best Director" bet, £40 @ 5/8, which I seem to recall romped home at one to silly on.

We had our first lesson, too;

"Instead of backing it to win Best Picture at a prohibitive 3/10, take the bigger odds about the director triumphing. 8 of the last 9 Best Picture winners have also scooped the Best Director award"

It's in the very first Post on Fred, here.....

The first few pages are a bit cringeworthy, as the wise men led the blind man.

All of which seems to suggest the logic of your suggestion is good. Whether anyone can get on with BWin is another matter.

yeah i agree, think Swansea will go well, they looked good at Anfield on saturday, and by all accounts played well for the first 30mins against Arsenal the week before.
V city too, who lets face it rent in great form and could well leak a couple of goals. Id be all over that bet!

I'm sure this was mentioned near the start of the football season, but is Fred on Fleetwood to win League 1 @ 50/1?

Cannot see it on the spreadsheet

They won at Sheffield Utd tonight, and are up to 4th. Still 8 points behind, but with a game in hand.

Still available at 66's.  Surely, they should be much shorter than that?

Am pretty sure we are on them,. yes.

EDIT - WE have £15 EW @ 50/1 on Fleetwood.

Bizarre that we got on at 50/1 & they are 66/1 now though.

Shared a few tables with Shaz tonight. She blamed you for getting busted. Wink

Must have missed this at the start of the season.  I almost put them up tonight but forgot about it.  They are on a hot streak at the moment and I was pretty surprised to see 7/1 available for tonight's game.

I'd far rather have them than Bradford City (my team).  Unfortunately it us the usual jokers with the big prices.  PP and bf sportsbook both limited me to win £100 at 80/1.  Shy were a little more generous at 66/1 laying to lose 500.  That suggests a ckean account could get more on.

I don't know how real the 12/1 on stars is for them to get promoted (I couldn't find it), but even 7/1 looks a very good price.

Quick update on Konta.  Woke in the middle of the night to see her steamrollered a bit in the last few games by Serena (so to answer myself 1.61 was a good price).  Konta was still trying to hit winners.  I am sure she is still on an upward curve and the prices we have on her for later in the season are very very good.  If she could just get in the other half from Serena.

Happy birthday Fred.

66/1 sounds like a good birthday present sweat Smiley

9/1 with for promotion is available, as you say, couldnt find the 12/1 on stars

Not sure why but Fleetwood now 100/1 with Korals (e/w available)
