Any basketball wonks have a view on the Raptors for the NBA championship?

45/1 with Patrick Parr. 28/1 generally.

They've signed Serge Ibaka, which I gather is reflective of the team trying to win now, rather than buidling for the future, particularly as they've given up a youngster and a draft pick. Ibaka improves their 3 point game and their defense.

Analytics site, Number Fire, has them as a 7.3% shot at winning the championship. Someone's clearly wrong.

Fred has up to £15 with me if he wants it. Let's see what the meatball mob think.

Their head assistant coach is the former head coach of the Birmingham Bullets Tal amongst several other old BBL sides from the 1990's.   Can you name him?

As for the bet i think the numbers site is probably wrong.  The East is weak though and the Cavs key players do have injury concerns outside of James.  They would probably be 8/1 still against whoever they faced from the West in the finals.  They will be a decent dog against Boston and a big dog against the Cavs on the way to the finals.  Doesn't seem any gift to me.

Nick Nurse!

Spent many evenings in my teens watching the bullets. Tony Dorsey was some player as I recall, Aston's answer to Michael Jordan...

Correct.  Dorsey was the best import player to play for numerous seasons in the old BBL during that era.  He clearly was a class act and tended to follow Nurse from team to team.  Aston's answer to MJ was their own home grown player Steve Hansell.  Same age as myself and i played against him during my junior days and he was the Bullets best player in the senior team at 15/16 years old.  He used to torch whatever junior side he was playing against then just change kit and start for the Bullet's pro team straight after.  Amazing talent.  Bounced around the EuroLeague for a decade with numerous teams.  He was a rolls royce of a player similar to Dorsey.

Taking a real flyer on a potential ante post bet for Cheltenham, before the Stat Pack take a closer look.

In the last 4 years Paul Nichols has really done well in the Fred Winter, two wins, 4 seconds, 1 3rd, 1 4th, 1 5th. Not bad, from 11 runners eh?!

The weights aren't out yet, but it almost feels like a bet opportunity.

He has two that take the eye at this stage. Dolos who ran ok behind the current Triumph Hurdle fav at Chepstow, without looking to be overly exerted. Clearly not a Triumph horse, but looked like it was there to get a tidy mark for this.

The real eyecatcher, however, is a horse called Chameron.
...

In Harry derham's blog today he says Chameron isn't going to the festival and will be aimed at Autueil later. http://www.paulnichollsracing.com/harry-derhams-blog/

Shame. I thought this was a great spot.

Ho hum. Pity.

Glad to see they like Brio Conti though for the Martin Pipe. The nice prices went last week though.

Balls, that was my first antepost for the festival... Do I have to wait till the week of the festival for it to be declared non runner? Not sure when declarations are, I'm assuming they won't refund until then?

You should get refund at final decs Cavey. Apols for the interest free loan to whoever!

EightEight8 stillg going 7/4 Aberdee w/o Celtic.  Clearly a rick but if anyone doesn't mind losing an account I'd have the entire roll on that.

Would imagine you'd just lose your account and they'd cancel your bet too after they see it? Nearest other price is 4/9 it's quite easily to claim fat fingered palp no?

I've had a small bet on it through the poker site. See how long it lasts

If you have hills, in enhanced odds, horse racing, they have Alan king to saddle at least one winner today at Taunton 5/1
He has 9/1, 5/2 and 7/2 runners today
They've messed up I imagine but hard for them to not pay if wins
They allowed a clean acc £100 on

Or 5/4?

Either way I don't see why they can't say it is an obvious palp given the price of the runners.

I keep saying it, but accounts have a lot of value.   Unless you have a bad casino/acca habit, you should keep clear.

G2 at 7/1 for this tournament starting tomorrow.
They're the best team in Europe and the top 2 in the market are Korean, that's why they're the price they are. They are terrible though.

Thistlecrack ruled out for the rest of the season.

Cue Card now best priced 9/2 for the Gold Cup unless you can get on with Satan.  Presumably that won't last long.

We are on at 9/1.

Great result for the old school firms who refused to go NRNB.   All the other firms have done their bollocks chasing the market leaders trying to keep up with them.

Police are looking for a middle aged man with several kids in tow, who was last seen near Thistlecracks box......

You really have to laugh at this!

'As part of that we'll be looking into any irregularity in the betting market'  What betting market?  One firm offered a one way price on it happening!  It is hardly a market.

Unsurprisingly Sunbet sponsored Sutton last night and were the only one offering the market.  They then moan about a 5 figure pay out but get huge free publicity across all mainstream press.  Sounds like a perfectly well executed plan to me.  Wonder how much sunbets paid the keeper to play his part in the farce?
