Cant believe I am suggesting this on so many fronts, but I just cant see beyond him.

This weeks PGA is being held at Quail Hollow.

In the 7 times Rory has played a tourny here he has finished top ten on 6 occasions.

He has won twice, a second, a fourth, an eighth, and a tenth. Some going.

Over the last couple of weeks he looks to be close to finally getting it all together.

This weekend he looked to be having fun with his new caddy, and some of the shots I saw him hit were incredible.

Quail Hollow could be the catalyst that brings it all together.

I'm not a Rory fan, and i hate backing favs, but the 8-1 based on all these factors actually seems like half decent ew value.

Suggest £50 ew with Fred/Tote at 8-1 to get the PGA bandwagon rolling.

They haven't.  Oddschecker is wrong (again??). Konta is 14/1, which is bigger than for the US Open.  She is in the easiest half.

Kerber has been a bit out of sorts for a while?

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

I know Fred doesn't have Boylesports but for others that do, they are offering an enhancement of 4/1 (from 2/1) for Man City to be top by Xmas. I think it's £20 max bet.

Hello,l I noted that since the last wells fargo (2016 not this year) the course has been dramatically changed. always been a course for bombers but one of the changes has been to replace ryegrass with thicker longer bermuda grass and the rough is more penal. it is felt that you need to be straight now.

I can't place the bet today (in an office, shudder, no oddschecker/bookie sites) but until I can is Rory consistent enough off the tee if you need to be straight?

Tee to green hasn't been the problem, even in this down year. The putter has been abysmal though. Has been looking better over the past month. Weight lifted after finally letting JP get perhaps? I'm woefully out of form but McIlroy looks the obvious choice.

His future is up in the air at the moment but is Sanchez just too big at 14/1 for top scorer?

Also Southampton to top the table by end of August at 13/1.....Swansea and WHU at home followed by Huddersfield away..... 9 points there for the taking. Goal difference is gonna be crucial but they could feasibly net a fair few goals whilst keeping them out at the other end (with or without VVD)

Does anyone else think that the 25/1(p/p) for Conte to be the 1st Premier Manager to leave is too big.
Seems very frustrated at lack of incoming transfers and with the Costa situation.
Would walk into another top job with his CV.
Has a track record of walking if unhappy.
Italian football journalist Mina Rzouki on BBC Radio 5 live's Monday Night Club: "Conte has not been the most loyal person in football.
He desperately wanted to be the manager of Juventus because he had been club captain and he finally got the job in 2011. It came out of nowhere in the sense he did not have the experience for a top-level club. They gave him that chance, gave him everything he wanted, and after winning the title in 2014 he just thought they weren't buying the right players to win the Champions League.
He walked away and looked to be agreeing terms with Milan - their biggest rivals at the time. He is somebody who looks after himself and what suits him best.
But walking away with six days before the new season starts is something else."

Seems a big price to me.

25-1 is crazy. Take what you can get would be my advice.

Mark Hughes is a terrible fav in this market. Stoke's owners know they have a really tough start to the season fixture wise.  This effectively gives Hughes a freeroll to over perform imo and get some results.  If he doesn't then they weren't expecting a strong start anyway fixture wise.  By the time the tough fixtures are over a gaffer will have been sacked already.  Stoke are not a sacking club and i just can't see what would have to happen for Hughes to be the first to go.  He isn't a gaffer capable of moving to a bigger job in reality and/or move to a job aboard in all likeliehood like a lot of the EPL gaffers could.

It def makes the market for other runners for sure.

McIlroy

6 places 1/4 Betfred 8-1

10 places 1/5 Coral 7-1

i think i am better taking the 8-1 for the favourite and the ten places for the bigger prices, where the likelihood of the place is greater than the win..? (correct me if i am wrong)

anyway, its been 18 hours since the rec
