Belgian GP qualifying starts at 14:00 UK time, and ahead of that session I'm liking Daniel Ricciardo to finish top six at 2/1 in the race. 15/8 would be okay also. 10 points.

We're on track with this bet after he qualified 4th.

I'm unable to find any other major spots ahead of the race though. That being said, I am going to have a cheeky five points on Ricciardo to be the leader after lap one at 18/1 with Hills. Renault have been the fastest through the first sector all weekend, and the opportunities for slipstreaming are huge at that part of the track. You'll often see cars go three/four wide on the first lap at this circuit into turn five - so Daniel has a real chance to take the lead tomorrow. The rest of the circuit is challenging to overtake on too, so if he does manage to take the lead in sector one, I make him the favourite to keep it as the first lap is completed.

- Ricciardo comfortably finished 4th, and his pace was much better than even I expected today.
- He didn't lead after the opening lap though.

Solid profits.

Nice one, Peter!

Lewis hosing up again, I see. Do you think he'll go for 8 and then retire?

Lewis is out of contract at the end of this season. Both parties will want to renew, but I would have thought Mercedes will be looking for at least a two-year deal which would take Lewis until the end of 2022 (possibly nine titles). However, 2022 sees brand new cars so the end of 2021 would be a natural stopping point for Lewis. From what I know of Lewis though, he'll probably want to do at least one season in that new car, so I think a two-year deal is most likely. Having said that, maybe he'll be keen to pursue his other interests. In summary, I haven't got a clue.  Cheesy

The replacement will almost certainly be George Russell though.

Interesting to see if he sticks around, and be quite good if he just kept going and went for an insurmountable number of titles.

http://backpagefootball.com/why-liverpool-wont-win-the-premier-league-this-season/126313/

Interesting article on football & caffeine use and the theory that Liverpool will have to relax on their players & are a good bet not to win the league this year.

I don't follow the EPL enough to know - thoughts from those that do?

An interesting set of practice sessions for the Italian GP with little to no correlation of results in the midfield, which I believe presents us with some opportunities.

Race Winner - Valtteri Botts @ 10/3+. I don't expect Valtteri to give too much trouble to Lewis for this one, but it's the EW portion of the bet I'm interested in. Over EVS top two is tempting on this track with closest challengers Red Bull having a troubled time through practice. I don't feel like Max Verstappen is on form this weekend. Suggest 10 points EW (1-2 1/3).

Podium Finish - Carlos Sainz @ 14/1+. McLaren are rapid this weekend, strong in all three sectors and the car has seemed planted to me through the high-speed corners. I'm surprised that firstly this price is so high, and secondly that Carlos has a larger price than his team mate. It'll be close between Carlos and Lando as usual, but I do expect Carlos to come out on top this weekend. Suggest 5 points.

Top Six Finish - Carlos Sainz @ 7/4. Similar reasons to above, but wouldn't take lower than 7/4. Suggest 10 points.

Qualifying starts at 14:00 UK time, so bets need to be placed by then.

One of the most bonkers races in modern times, brilliant action!

- Bottas finished 5th. Had a dreadful opening lap and suffered mechanical issues throughout.
- Sainz finished 2nd. He looked as if he would comfortably get a podium, even before the chaos. Both bets on him won, including the 14/1 podium shout.

Sainz got us huge profits this weekend, three excellent races in a row for us.
