The officials took exception to a "robust" shoulder charge and decided to even the game up.

I thought a sin-binning would have been fair. It wasn't malicious, but it was definitely a shoulder into his head - and as Carney said in the commentary, if it had been a swinging arm that connected like that, it would have been punished in a similar way.

There appears to be a big reluctance to use "sin-binning" in Rugby League. I don't see any good reason for this. I don't have any statistics to hand but I can recall very few instances.
Putting a player "on report" generally seems to be deemed sufficient which has always surprised me. It doesn't punish the offending side during the game at all. It's of very little consolation to know that a player may miss the next few games for his club when he has just taken the head off one of your own player's shoulders.

The putting on report is often a complete kop-out by a weak ref.

That's what I thought.
It seems an odd thing all round.
Does it mean that if someone does something really bad and doesn't get "put on report" that he can't be punished after the game?
If this isn't the case, then why bother having this "rule" at all apart from, as you say, giving a referee a cop-out so that he can show that he's taken some action when he really hasn't done anything.

Castleford head coach Ian Millward is on compassionate leave following the sudden death of his son Robbie at the age of 19. A club statement said: "Robbie was taken ill at his home in Leigh on Sunday morning and was then rushed to Bolton Hospital where he died later in the evening."

Very sad news.  RIP.

Was surprised when a penalty was given and is not a sending off. Also don't think it is what the sin bin is there for either. However Tommy Lee should have walked in Saturdays game

It's a tough weekend to predict tbh.

Fancy my team at home on Saturday to the Bulls giving 2 start but will be close.
Huddersfield seem a decent bet at London giving 10.
Hull at Salford giving 6 start.
Depending on team selected Leeds giving 22 seems to be value

Neither great imo.  But as it's early in the season, a lot can happen.

I think both will lose but I am not into backing 2/5 on shots at league.
