What players do you want to buy Adz? That's a more pertinent question. I would hate to do a Spurs and waste £100mil on Soldado and co.

They needed to sign a striker- pretty clear cut.

AW doesn't need replacing, he just needs to admit he needs to sign some players every now and then. He's too bloody stubborn is the issue. He is a fantastic manager, just won't spend.
At the start of this arguement, I thought the same, but the more people had a go at me, the more stuff I recalled to defend my position about what was going wrong, the more the whole case against Mr W built up and is substanciated.
He doesn't seem to want to win stuff, eg Giroud on bench vs Bayern, and he seems to sweep exits from tournies under the carpet, like we don't notice.
Signings. a bit obvious really, if its a bottomless pit then you offer Messi the world and build around him. Realistically, give me a budget figure and lets have a go, and arboy can pick apart every person I choose.

I'll give you a budget of £70million for this summer and you can reinvest 25% of any sales. Think that is pretty reasonable.

He is out the door quick as a flash!

They seem to want Sagna, Vidic and Evra. How slow is Serie A?!
Then I remember Lamela was tearing up defences last season and Gervinho is this season...

Lamela is a class act Tal hardly played a minute in anger really.
Not so sure the Spurs money has been that badly spent never judge a foreign signing within the first season (or less for most of them)
Thought Chadli, Ericksen and Soldado were excellent in second half at weekend.

Definitely the last two. Not convinced about Chadli at all, but he was "only" 7m.

Any names then for the £70m and 25% of any sales?
Diego Costa comes to my mind. only problem is its £40m+ for him and competing against Chelsea
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2589960/EXCLUSIVE-Chelsea-close-Diego-Costa-Jose-Mourinho-plans-40m-Atletico-Madrid-star.html
i think this is the sort of thing we are all mentioning Adz.
£70m, even £100m, might stretch to 3 players who might be better than what you have, and for all of them you are competing against sides with more attractions than Arsenal have
so in general Wenger goes for younger players from british clubs or Eropean players just below the top notch (Ozil being the exception) as he can't get the top top guys against chelsea, bayern, madrid, barca, PSG, Monaco etc etc

That isn't consistent with what he says though.
How did Chelsea become more attractive? Man City? They just through tons of money at the club and players
I'm not saying that Arsenal could/should do the same but surely the manager isn't blameless

yes the landscape has changed, and there are 8-10 teams out there that can operate in a different sphere
to improve the team he has in key areas (striker, obviously) is going to take £40-50m per player and then attract them to arsenal over those they are in competition with
not easy
the essential problem is that the long term approach of Wenger is at odds with what a section of the fan base want, which is shorter tem
but at least Arsenal can build from a position of cash in the bank, stadium paid for and not in the position united are with £1bn in debt
if the football market ever goes "pop" Arsenal are minted, literally

Fans don't care about money in the bank tho. Or what might happen if football goes pop. Fans don't go to a game to contribute towards their clubs big bank balances. They want success. And that usually means trophies. Certainly for a club like arsenal.
Too many times in the last five years or so wenger has said he doesn't need to strengthen his squad in transfer windows, and it has backfired on him. Then in the last window, he managed to sign a player, knowing he was gonna be injured long term.
