Always hear Arsenal lack a leader

Arsenal captains of the last 3 seasons have started a total of 13 games.
2013-14 Vermaelen 7

2014-15 Arteta 6

2015-16 Arteta 0

I'm pretty sure they celebrated St. Totteringham's day in each of those seasons though.

Is that the ambition for this season too?

It'd be the most Arsenal thing ever if, on the day Utd sign Pogba for a world record fee, Arsenal signed Jonny Evans.

In all seriousness how Arsenal haven't signed Williams ahead of Everton is beyond me

Today's starting line-up is not exactly straightforward with a dearth of defenders and a vast array of quality midfielders.

My tentative first XI is: Cech; Bellerin, Chambers, Monreal, Gibbs; Xaka, Elneny; Ox, Santi, Iwobi; Alexis.

Other permutations could include: Ramsey, Theo, Coq, Campbell, Holding, Debuchy, and Bielik.

Hearing from my sauces that Elneny and Coq will start in tandem, not sure if Xaka has a niggle or not.

We had Arsenal shopping day yesterday in the Adz household.

The wife sent me to Waitrose for some bread. When I got there, there was plenty of choice of lovely breads from all over the place, but it was more expensive than I wanted to pay.

I went home and decided to go back at the end of the day, and see if there were any bargains to be had, but bugger me, would you Adam and Eve it, all the bread was gone.

I couldnt understand it when the wife went loopo when all I was trying to do was look after the family finances......

This whole bargain thing is just a flimsy excuse to not spend. Wenger is clearly given strict instructions from upstairs to spend what is neccesary to ensure a top 4 position but no more. The shareholders simply don't want to see hundreds of millions spent in a fruitless attempt to win the league so would rather not take the gamble on in the first place. Majority are seething as we do every year, but i'm sure Kroenke and co have been extremely happy at how the club has been run for a number of continuously profitable years. It makes me really sad to see all the other top clubs swing for the fences this transfer window and we field Holding and Chambers in our first game. It's blatantly obvious we aren't even trying to win the league.

As a fan of a team who will never win the league I find myself admiring the Arsenal way.  Sustainably competing at a high level and relying on good old fashioned coaching to develop promising talents.  There is nothing more off putting than Mourinho trying to buy the league wherever he goes.  This season should be a big one for Rashford but I would be surprise if he ends up being marginalised.  Perhaps if feel different if I was forking out 2k for a season ticket or whatever it costs at the Emirates.

I get that post Dung, but you know your team is never going to win the league and can appreciate the frugal way Arsenal go about things but for the Arsenal they should be challenging and winning things every year.

As a Celtic fan there is nothing more frustrating than when they wont spend a few quid on decent players to give the fans adecet standard of football and continuously try just to get by.  This season so far they have spent a few quid but trying to do it on the cheap again by getting to champions league to scrape through once again.

If it wasn't for the ridic free kick award before half time would have won that at a canter with our second team.

Arsene is on top of it on that evidence
