Abba.

Anything that has James Bond and Mr Darcy singing with Mrs Overall and Maggie Thatcher has to go straight into Room101

Up in Glasgow this week for work and staying right by the SECC which a big conference venue where I'm working this week. Just went down to my hotel bar about 20 mins ago to get a glass of wine and fuck me the bar was rammed with birds, its monday night WTF?

Turns out there was a Barry Manilow concert on next door. Now if I had a wingman with me I might have stayed down there for a bit.......  Cheesy

Judging by the fact that we get an endless cycle of it year after year, it appears I'm supposed to like the endless dirge churned out by X Factor, BGT, The Voice, Pop Idol, Popstars, etc.  The only highlight turned out to be Myleene Klass for non-musical reasons.

Others:

Coldplay - quite literally the most boring band on earth

The Fall - sorry Mr Peel, but on this one you were wrong.  They're my best mate's absolute favourite band ever too, but I just never got it.

Pretty sure I'm not supposed to like them, but Westlife deserve a place on this list.  For recording a duet with Mariah Carey of a Phil Collins song and releasing it into the public domain they deserve a whole lot worse.

Not a band, but the song Whisky in the Jar.  Doesn't do it for me, it's ok, but it's not one of the greatest ever.

Love that song. Not sure whose version is my favourite, bit might well be Thin Lizzy's.

This is a great call.  The amount of time I have invested in trying to get The Fall because friends, who share my tastes in just about everything else, love them is frightening.

Agree with Bob Dylan. Queen and The Beatles are awesome though obv. Might be the first time I've heard any hate for Queen? Sheltered life I guess.

The Who probably the biggest band that I've never really taken any interest in could barely name two songs.

This has been bugging me since I first read it.

Shame on you. Influential on so many bands, and with a huge catalogue of great tracks.

Find a cd of Live at Leeds and be amazed

Saw them play it live on Sunday, was awesome.

Don't get why Adele is so popular - songs are fookin awful.
