Quick question....

If I was a named driver on gf's car insurance and had a prang that was my fault, claim went through etc and then we split up and she tried to get her own insurance without me being named would she have to declare my prang and should it cost her?

Pretty sure the answer to this is yes. Although it was your fault you were a named driver on her policy. If she doesn't declare it, it could cause bigger problems if she has to claim again as they would declare her new policy void leaving her uninsured.

I'm pretty sure the question relate to you as a driver, as you have to fill them out for each named driver on a new policy.

In theory it shouldn't affect her.

Provided all the questions are answered truthfully on the proposal then I don't see an issue.  If the questions are along the lines of  'have you or anyone on your policy had any claims' then she'd obviously have to declare it.

lolz.

I think the answer to the OP is yes and yes.

Personally I try and intimidate them and in an attempt to make the person think it is their fault, as this never works I then say get a quote and I will sort you out with the cash.
