Haven't heard much of the online chip daddy Paul Brown? Still a big stack?

Well yesterday he literally didnt play a hand for about 5 levels, then when he did he would limp in and check call. That's not a criticism of his play by the way, merely an observation. I think he didngt want  to dent his stack too much and just cruise through to today.

He took a couple of hits but is still patiently waitiing for premium hands.

To get so many chips online I'm having to assume he must have been running like God in the weeks previous online qualifiers, or there is the possibility admin messed up and sent the qualifiying email to Paul in error?!

He just isn't getting involved now. I spoke to him earlier when Tan Lee was chip leader and Paul said it was irrelevant at this stage who had all the chips, as long as he had them all in the last hand...

I actually think this is where his investment is working against him. He has to make final table to recoup the money he spent he needs prob 5th at least to pay off the effort.

So maybe he is playing a bit scared (wierd thought process I know).

to be fair i had him on my table and he seemed extremely pleasant, he made it quite clear he enjoyed playing online and trying to build his stack up and was trying a few lives again these days.He was happy to chat away and although he never said as much i got the impression money was not necessarily an issue for him he was just doing something he enjoyed.

good luck to him

To be fair... no one said he wasn't pleasant!

He's a lovely guy to talk to, really friendly and having fun, I totally agree.

I just wonder though, why you would spend so much - whether money is an issue or not -  to not then use that monster stack to it's best advantage from day one in a tournament unlike any other, where you have started with a massive advantage to every other player in that game?

He's now blinding down and is on 450K which is getting towards HALF the average stack (698K). 26 players left in and 18 cash. Thoughts?

It was posted somewhere on yesterday's thread as far as I recall. Plujs I wouldnt think it too hard to work out if you know how many games he played and how much the entry was.

It's the "chipleader" tourney you wallyxx

You had to win the chips online playing SNG's @ €3 a pop for the last three months.

No you had to build your entire stack playing those itty-bitty SNG's and then bring them all to the live event.

I think there's a thread about it on the front page.

There was also MTT's but most players tended to play the STT's or the two table ( 20 players) STT

Bruce old git Ewan is another true gent and I think was coming into this as one of the top 3 chip leaders. Really suprised me as I expected all the chip leaders to look more like Dave Nicholson and Dan Morgan. Instead they look more like Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.  This seems to have been a great comp played in a great atmosphere.

couldn't be any more spot on
Plenty of friendly banter around all the tables, not just one or two
Plenty of players who busted today and yesterday gave great feedback, saying they would love to play this again some time soon
