Bah, went down for the side event today which was listed pretty much everywhere as being at 2.30, the casino staff told me 2.30, bought in I'm advance yesterday and even my receipt said 2.30. Get there and am told it is actually at 7. Buggered up my day completely (had to instead go Xmas shopping with my wife, bah)

Over a million more than 2nd and 3rd place has 700k
He has been here before with 13 left at the Ept Grand Final. Hope he gets there this time.
Good luck Shola n PeeJay too

The Genting Poker Series Sheffield main event has reached its final days play in the South Yorkshire city. Only 29 players still have chips left to play with, and they will be lead into battle this afternoon by Simon Higgins and his monster 2,235,000 stack.
Higgins is one of only two players to bag up a seven-figure stack, the other being Hasmukh Khodiyara (1,214,000), and is now in pole position to take down his first major live title. According to his Hendon Mob page, Higgins has two live cashes to his name, one for €500 and the other for €70,000; the latter awarded for his 12th place finish in the 2011 PokerStars European Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event.
Second placed Khodiyara is another man who has had a massive live score, but who is still to win an event. In April 2012, Khodiyara finished fifth in the record-breaking UKIPT Nottingham Main Event, a result that earned him £62,500.
Whoever does leave the Steel City victorious will do so with £50,000, with the runner-up taking home at least £31,750 for their efforts.

I am not sure if anyone is interested, but I'll update anyway.
It seems Geting Sheffield is really struggling for poker custom by the looks of it. The numbers for some tournaments are not getting anywhere near the numbers that Hillsborough gets 2 and 3 times a week and the cash games are doing significantly better at G_casino, which is just down the road. Although I have tried to encourage those to go to Gentings, but to no success.
Napoleons at Hillsborough is still getting a decent amount of numbers. The £20 rebuy is still attracting 80-100 players each Wednesday and collecting £10k each week, so hopefully Gentings get on the case & sort the poker room out! It would be very good to see Getings have a decent game of their own, that gets decent numbers, and perhaps costs me less than the £200 each week at Naps!
PS - There is a Boxing Day special, £100 FO with £5k added.
