oh right that helps me no end. Guess its not an Adam I know then
Bald head, large build usually plays 1/2 at weekends. You prob not know him.
The other Adam you know, young lad...from Lincoln. Think he's taking a time out from poker. He needs to be able to handle te beats and stay away from blackjack. Which prob tough at 19

ha ha. Played with Adam Cook and his mum this weekend. He may have been annoyed with me in a hand we played but he is a a stylish young lad. He had the Mod look going on with the Fred Perry polo and a Parker.

Adam's on here as well. Rarely plays comps though, so unlikely you'll have crossed swords Herbie.

Bump...
£200 FO, £40k gtd - Day 1a and 1B are Fri and Saturday.
Cash games are £3 rake max.
According to Raf White, this could make well over the guarantee this weekend, such a shame I am not around.
Looking like a £50k pot at the minute.

Help please Blondes.
Sheffield here I come next Weds 28th!
My lad has had offers from some Universitys and yours is one of them. This week we had Warwick and Birmingham so stayed at the Ricoh De Vere for £50 and played the £20 deep n steep at the G Coventry for some father/son bonding. It was a good laugh and he outlasted me in his first live event so I am up for revenge next week. Warwick Uni is top of the pops at the moment but he has heard computer science at Sheffield is also an excellent course and then the last one is St Andrews in Fife next month.
So next Weds night, which casino has the best value tourney for us with a Premier Inn nearby so I can have a few beers and drive back on Thursday?
This is not a mega bender really as he does not drink a lot and I am meant to be responsible. So no Lil Dave style antics this trip but would def have a few beers with any of you if you fancy. The wife was not over impressed with me semi degening him the other night on our very serious midlands Uni fact finding trip.
Also need a good Chinese or Indian eaterie for pre poker.
Would appreciate any local help.
Thank you.
Alex

Wednesday night the £20 rebut I believe is still the best comp in Sheff. Positives are it gets a good prize pool. Negatives, it's bingo, can get expensive, starts and finishes late. Not sure what comps are on at genting or g. You will get a cash game at g I imagine from like 6 loads of hotels in city centre have a look on late rooms I got a Hilton for like £30 last time I checked. If your in the city centre most things are pretty close g will be a £5 taxi town you can walk to genting. Naps £20 rebut might be £15 for a taxi depending on where your staying!

I think a 20 r is a bit much for my lad. Reading the thread the G £25 15 k stack is perfect. Does it still happen?

Hey.
Unfortunately the only place to be on a Wednesday is Napoleons and the standard of play is poor & there isn't much poker. However they do offer free food and vouchers for the night & I really do enjoy the food at Napoleons. As for other games elsehwre, not sure if they really get off the ground to be quite honest, you are guaranteed 80+ runners at Napoleons and near enough a £10,000 pot.
If you fancy cash, best place to go for that is G-Casino, but food is no good and quite a distance from other places too, well apart from McDonalds.

According to Raf this will be run again. Good news.
I don't think it will be on monthly basis though.
