Can't say he hasn't had chances.

Same as when MVG made it first time, and we were all on at massive prices Sad

At least MVG actually gave us a run for our money.

Only a 102 ave from MVG and Smith doesn’t lay a glove on him.

Mvg
Cross
Wright
Anderson
Gurney
Price
Suljovic
Barney
Smith
Wade

Premier league line up

Would have preferred chisnall to wade, his maximums in the short format, no Whitlock or Anderson hmm

Incredible tweet that early when he was big odds on to NOT make it a month before the worlds.  2 players who were 1.01 to be in the premier league made the world final and he still coouldn'tt get in.   Not sure why he was convinced he would make it given who won the tv majors this year and the fact Barney would be a cert for a sky wild card with the top 4 auto in.  Wonder who he thought you miss out so he would get in?

Whitlock had the toughest draw and probably had to final to have a chance to get in.

Once Gurney won the Players he was drawing very thin. He deserves to be in ahead of Barney on merit but obviously that was never happening. He needed a deep run at the Worlds to have a prayer.

B Hearn mentioned last night in his interview on talksport that he was going to freeze the worlds money moving forward for a few years and increase the other tv majors to stop the huge WC pressure on the rankings which is good news.  Maybe he reads Blonde and knows what we have been discussing.

He had a back handed dig at ronnie and the other snooker players about how well the darts boys work with the media to grow the product compared to them.   Was an interesting radio interview if you can listen to it somehow on talksport.  Quite lengthy with Nicholson and Mason involved as well.

https://www.pdc.tv/pdc-order-of-merit

Updated rankings after the worlds.  Sure Dave will do his usual insane update which is an awesome read.  The thing that stood out for me is Jackpot has weasaled his way into a 'dream spot' of 14 given he would be seeded to play Snakebite (seeded 3) in the last 16 of any event as it stands.  Obviously this will change prior to the next tv major that is drawn on seeds.  The UK open in March has a totally open draw.  That 14 slot is going to be highly prized if Snake stays as bang out of form as he is currently.  He will be locked into the 3rd seed for a fair while yet with £100k difference between 2 and 4 either way.

Hard to argue with the current top 12 in the world at the minute apart from Snake and maybe Gurney and Smith are the wrong way around.  Smith would have been second in the world if he had won the worlds. Be interesting to see how much progress Jackpot makes in 2019.

Barney down in the low 20s now and they said on talksport on the 2018 money list alone (not the 2 year rolling one the rankings use) Barney was ranked 48 in 2018 alone which shows how bang out of form he has been given he has been gifted first round prize money as a minimum in every tv major in 2018 which he won't get next year.

Makes sense to start levelling out the prize money a bit. Bazza obviously wanted to hit the headline figure of half a million to the winner. Now he’s hit that he can start bringing the likes of the MP up to an appropriate level. There should be plenty to go round given there are 249 players registered for Euro Q school and expecting up to 900 at the UK one. At £450 each that’s going to be just shy of £500k in entry fees.

I saw the £450 entry fee and my eyebrows raised somewhat.  Seems steep.  Could me and you register and pay the £450 and turn up just for the craic if we wanted to?  Is there no minimum level required if you have the money?  Rob Cross (and to a lesser extent the youngsters doing well in the worlds this year) has clearly fueled a 'moneymaker effect' in darts.  Didn't realise hired the tennis centre in Wigan was so expensive!  I imagine there are huge exs admin/refs/scorers for the Q school.  It must be a huge operation running it with so much at stake i can't imagine the players score themselves right?
