22/1 Terpstra just a little too big so have added him to my Benoot wager.

Fantastic write up Tommy, I particularly liked this line:

"Today is a day I feel sorry for people who don't enjoy watching cycling. Their lives are poorer for it."

echo that, the most beautiful sport.

Would love to be in Belgium today, but up early & watching Sporza build up bringing back great memories of previous years.

A rather uninspiring breakaway-
Lukas Postlberger (Bora-Argon 18), Imanol Erviti (Movistar), Gijs Van Hoecke (Topsport Vlaanderen Baloise), Hugo Houle (Ag2r-La Mondiale), Wesley Kreder (Roompot-Oranje Peloton) and Federico Zurlo (Lampre-Merida)

Eurosport went live and about 30 seconds later there was a crash. Demare down, scraped and miserable. Whatever small chance he had has gone surely, unless he finds a sticky car to hold on to(again).

Another crash and it seems Benoot has abandoned. Cruel luck for the young man and me.

Etixx absolutely smashing it on the front. Surely they have plans to finish this off. Brilliant racing so far. Canc and Sagan haven't been more than two bike lengths apart since the coverage started. Hoping some can surprise them as they don't have many teammates left.

Tony Martin inflicting plenty of pain on the front. Another year or so experiencing the cobbles & he will be unstoppable.

Etixx stop riding and lots of domestiques get back in. Pretty crappy from Etixx again. Burning matches.

5 BMC riders down in a heap. Van Avermaet is involved and he is out. Wow.

Vanmarcke has had two mechanicals and lots of chasing back in as well.
