Does the break make it? Having a few quid on Navarro, could be his turn to make one stick.

GC-wise, be interesting to see if Movistar and Astana "team up" to have a go at Sky. They can't do it alone. Hopefully we see aggressive racing, they barely attacked Froome on the last mountain stage

Sorry nell, too busy today to have any informed opinion, only a glance at the stage. Good luck.

in a historical context how strong are the sky team?

all bases always covered, 4-5 domestiques around him all day, a couple still with him on last climbs

think 2 years ago was the last time Froome was isolated on a stage?

the other teams just don't seem to have the depth to use any tactics to make Froome vulnerable.

I would say strongest ever.

1 clear team leader, no super domestics looking to step up/move team.
Has 8 domestics all riding for him, not looking for sprint stages/breakaways
Froome looks super strong and certainly more imposing on others in the GC pack than he used to be.

I think other teams haven't been able to attack as sky keeping them close to the limit all the time.

Yeh, some factors working in their favour. No sprinter so no need to compromise climbing ability to form a sprint train is a big plus. The other thing is it isn't just any old domestique grafting for Froome, they are top quality in their own right. Froome was saying as much in the last mountain stage. Poels won LBL this year, Landa was a strong GC contender in last year's Giro, G shows up prominently in stage races these days. I think in the old days teams having the likes of Nibali and Valverde to attack and "soften up" the yellow jersey teams would have been a big factor, but Sky have been so strong their attacks have been futile.

Mountain ITT. Really should be a case of how much time Froome puts into everyone. Dumoulon had a relatively easy day yesterday, but you would expect the steep sections to blunt his power.

A bit of a flyer, but Jérome Coppel at 150/1 EW is value to get the 3rd spot. Could get better conditions with an earlier start time. He should be a top 5 rider, but being a local lad & riding for a new contract, the extra motivation could see a top result.

Likely a win from the break. Really a nasty uphill start to the stage, plenty of teams will want multiple riders in the breakaway.

Really hoping Sky will give Poels some freedom today. He's been phenomenal. I've taken 150/1 win on betty.

Strongest breakaway riders this week have been Rafał Majka and Ilnur Zakarin, but are priced accordingly. Aru has looked to have found some form. Bardet also will be desperate for a win.

Nasty stage that. Sad Adam Yates lost his podium spot. But pleased for Bardet, French pride partially restored.
