Tidal bay was described by his trainer slightly lame so thats why he did'nt run. Thought Imperial commanders run was great to say he'd been off the track for nearly 2 years on ground that does'nt favour him. Can't believe he's still 25's Biggest dissapointment was Gran Crus again. Agree about At Fishers cross.

At Fishers Cross was a classic McCoy ride. One of those situations where there's no one else you want on your horse for that finish.

Horrible if you happen to have bet the other horse (see "FML")

amazing the difference in mccoy on ATC and the winner in the last yesterday to his "ride" on binocular

only the green and gold colours would treat a champion hurdle as a trial

maybe mccoy got confused and thought he was on one of jonjos at ludlow on a wet tuesday

Ha!

for me since mccoy has joined the green and gold colours i have lost a fair bit of respect for him

anyway that is off topic to cheltenham

I suspect that the retainerAP gets for JP, far outweighs 200 winners round ludlow, and the associated percentage he would get, so riding to some "strange" orders perhaps is understandable.

Doesnt excuse it tho from an integrity standpoint

of course it does he went for the ££ and i have no problem with that

i just dont like the fawning over mccoy when he reverts back to previous type when usually in the same week he has given at least one horse a at best "eductional" ride

In McCoy's defence, Binocular is a bit of a quirky so-and-so and does need a bit of kidding along at times especially in ground that would not have been suitable on all known form.

I didn't think it was as much of a non-trier as some critics did given it was first time out.

Point taken but I'm giving credit where I believe it's due.

i must admit, the writing was on the wall pre race at 10s on the machine. He certainly was rding rather vigorously over the last couple tho for a non trier.

I can show you thousands worse.

Let us not forget the chequered history of Binocular and  The Chemist(we love that in our little posse, ty Tal) and the sinular aim of winning the title

i am not saying it was the worst not by a long chalk

just for a champion race i thought the ride was considerate until near the end

at no point did he attempt to win the race imo

whether he could have is neither here nor there though i suspect not

even the irish stewards looked into it which is a first

yes, I am starting to think Stewards rooms must have ATR on these days. Chapman or Boycie only has to suggest an enquiry these days and they are on it

Did have my eye on Our Vinnie for AB, but blew out big time behind Pont Alex yesterday, over a trip possibly too short.

Happy to wait a while yet.

Have to agree we went on Saturday in the Grandstand side, did my head in hustle and bustle everywhere. Last few years been in Best mate side, busy but not terrible. If you gave me free tickets for granstand during fesival week i'd turn them down.
