Just cant have HF as a 6/4 shot(Lads!). Year older and as AM says beating the same old same old, who even themselves aren't showing old form.

That was not the real Hurricane Fly last year as he just wasn't right.
He didn't even get a run until after Xmas and surely nobody in their right mind thinks that last year's CH placings represent HF's true form.
Beaten fair and square on the day yes but the horse was a shadow of itself.
i dont know if i subscribe to that ralph. Mullins been saying he wasnt right last year, but in the build up to he race everything was fine according to mullins.
Whats to say that he didnt run to form last year? i mean its only been beating rubbish this season thats he's beaten before.
Mullins says that he's back to his "very best" this year so we will see.
I reckon he wins on the bridle this March with Zarkandar 3L away in second.
What price the forecast?

i keep thinking back to the stat about horses regaining the CH crown, and only comedy of errors managing it. I wonder how many have actually tried, has to be a decent number id imagine but ive never bothered to look

Looks about right, Mr T, but no idea how many have tried & failed.
Comedy of Errors, & Fred Rimell, what a memory, Fred was quite a character.
There is a list of all the CH winners at the foot of this page......
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champion_Hurdle
It does not answer your question, but it tugs the memory strings.

Aaaaaaah, no looking at the link Tikay posted. some great memories there for. The 1988-1994 era when I first got into NH racing, always remember my Kribensis / Katabatic double in 1990 I think. First big Ante Post Coup, well only one I think, slippery slope since

I see PN has confirmed Tidal Bay will go hurdle route.
Following Sir Des Champs beating Flemenstar almost to the pound, and Tidal Bay beat them both, and SDC is now
for the GC this really has to be a bizarre decision, prompted purely by Rubys desire to have decent rides in flagship events.

This is just your wallet talking, the likelihood they would do this was in the price from when Big Bucks got injured. You´ve been a little unlucky but that´s punting and the decision they´ve made isn´t by any stretch very poor.

can understand PN wanting ruby to be on it whichever race it runs in tbh. Without walsh on in the GC would be a huge negative imo

I stand to win just as much if he wins WH, as I thought they would stick to this theory.
Based on SDC being 2nd fav when he has form behind TB and Bobs beat him by three lengths in receipt of 6 pounds, and the fact he only beat Crack Away Jack by a couple over hurdles, pocket talking or not, its a ridic end result

Sigh. Ruby not on, doesn't worry me. His most impressive performance was when D Jacob won Whitbread on him.

I love Sizing Europe and am on @ 17.5 on BF but he has no confirmed festival target yet.
Everything looks right to me though for the Ryanair, and De Bromhead said he is very unlikely to go for the GC and ideally wants further than two miles these days as he usually has to force the pace which he doesn't need to do over further.
