Also more father photos from back in they day when cameras were first introduced pls Ed  thumbs up

I'm working with relatively limited stock I'm afraid as they've had to go from from glass slide --> negative --> digital image --> photobucket but here's a bonus shot of Ian back in the day:

Starting to get excited about the trip. I have a full day of meetings in Nottingham today and London tomorrow.Hope to finish about 4.30pm when I swap the suit for a hoodie and catch the train to Swanley from Victoria, meet Ed,Alex and Gas 7 for the drive to Le Touquet. Readers may be surprised to hear that I quite like driving :-) . Obviously not looking forward to listening to Ed and Alex rambling on about variance and fold equity and 'ranges' and all that stuff.
Tonight like any teenager I will be giving attention to my wardrobe for the trip. Ed has recently taken to dressing like some country posh boy nob. All tweed and red trousers. He will no doubt soon be wearing a signet ring. I will have to take the unwashed ' I love Blackpool ' shirt as Deauville is by the seaside. I have also decided to take an England Rugby T Shirt as the 6 Nations kicks off on Saturday and I am sure the French surrender monkeys will love being check raised by a 'Rostbif'.
Last time we went I managed to fluke a satellite seat to the main event and Ed actually won a comp so who knows. Deauville is a wonderful place in the summer but I have heard it's a bit gloomy and 'shut' at this time of the year. However the beer, food and wine will be good and although it's not Vegas or Prague or Marbella it is 6 days away from work pretending to be 25.
I have never been 'staked' before and certainly don't need to be. I have done it as a way of seeing if it has an effect on my approach to the game. Some of you guys have contributed your cash to have a punt on me and I take that very seriously. My own money I occasionally tilt donk off. ( occasionally Ian ? ). I can promise all the backers I will not be doing that during these three competitions. I am SO motivated to get a result for the stakers. Seriously motivated.
So that's about it for today. Tomorrow the fun starts when Steve the driver picks Alex the posh boy up and takes him and Gas 7 to Swanley to meet Ed for about 5.30pm before I drive us to Le Touquet.
What could possibly go wrong ?

Never had the pleasure of meeting either of you gentlemen, but looking forward to following this and expecting the newest diary on Blonde to be epic!!

I see Blackpool mentioned earlier, are you a Blackpool fan? If so, are you rooting for Thommo to be given the job for the time being?

Best of luck to you all!!

Ed, do you want to explain to the young'uns what the title of the thread refers to? It was scarily before I bet some were born...

Most triumphant thread, BTW.

One of Ians (many hilarious) claims to fame came from him wearing an "I <3 Blackpool" T-Shirt on the final table of GUKPT Blackpool
