Tighty the firms bought a business with some offices in Singapore,Hong Kong and Shanghai. Hence I have to go over a few times a year.To make it bearable I try to coincide the visits with an event. Hence the 7's earlier in the year and the GP last weekend. Flew out Friday night and returned Monday night. Being jet lagged is a breeze if you are used to playing poker through the night.

love how you justify a business trip to the other side of the world flying out friday night and flying back monday morning!  Don't they work standard office hours in the far east?

Lol. Flew back Monday night. Means I get three days in Far East and only miss one day in the UK ( Monday) no idea why I am trying to justify it on here!

'Slim brag' post incoming, as Ian would call it....

Exciting news in the Gascoigne household, Helen and I will be getting married in April of next year Smiley

She's basically a legend to be honest, not least in that she puts up with me. We met in February 2010 in the good, old-fashioned way of speaking in a bar, and subsequently 'courting'. I remember that first night vividly, what we spoke about, the atmosphere, and just generally feeling that something rather special was going on. Given how poor my memory is generally, I think it says a lot that I remember this night, and our subsequent dates, so well.

Congratulations!

College chapel?

Considered, and I went to a wedding there a couple of weeks back that was lovely, but...ultimately we wanted a location meaningful to us both, so we are going with St. John the Baptist's church in Wimbledon around 100yds from where Helen lived when we first met. Reception will then be at a lovely gastropub 5mins walk from where we lived together for the first time, then a London bus into town for a spot of dancing.

congrats ed.  You and your dad are both top geezers.  Have a great day.  The punting game is a worse place without you working in it.
