If an amateur places in a pro golf tournament does a caddie still get the % of the prize money he would as if he was on the bag of a pro?

No, well yes as in a %age of nothing Wink

Bit harsh.

If an amateur wins the Open, caddy miss out on 100 lumps

Caddies are paid by the player.

If you caddy for an amateur you know where you stand.

I'm looking for a caddy next Sunday btw Wink

You should be playing the 6 Max at DTD next weekend. Should be a terrific weekend.

Do you have the slightest idea how bad I am at 6-max holdem?

Hopefully Keith will play and have time for a quick nine holes with us before he TID's on Sunday.

You too are invited to either play, caddy or be official photographer.

Keith is too old to play 6 Max.....

If Keith pays 9 holes before play starts on DTD day 2, I will come along as your personal Bruce Harmen and Lord Snowdon combined.

Are you really looking for a caddy ? I might be able to do it for you. Could be fun, but you will have to advise on clubs for distances

I notice our old friend Mr Noh popped up for a short while last week on the leaderboard.

He also finished quite high up in last years Canadian Open, and if I recall, improved from round to round.

Maybe worth a nibble of Betty

No bets for me this week in The Canadian Open at Glen Abbey.

I used to live in Canada many moons ago mostly in Toronto where I spent most of my time playing snooker for money and consequently getting to know most of the good players, some of whom were golfers in the three months of the year that the weather permitted the game to be played.

I did actually play Glen Abbey once with a Mr Thorburn c1976/7.

<edit>The memory plays tricks especially mine from that era ( I blame smoke-inhalation) so I have amended the date as the course was only opened in 1976.

The good Dr Noh finished better than he started at -2, was +3 i think earlier.

Chapman put up a good case for Rocco in the seniors and he started nicely, and shall be my staple event next few days.

This thread almost falls off the 1st page  Shocked

Have all the golf punters gone skint?

I've gone for the defending champ Keegan Bradley at 40s at Firestone.  Might go for some others but a bit distracted this week by being in the invited studio audience (with voting rights) in a Sheriff court trial.

Chad Campbell in Reno with the unique format, should suit his boom or bust attitude, with boom being rewarded more than bust is penalised! Same as Stefani.

Dustbin at the long Bridgestone course, and Adam Scott makes up the 2x2 for me

I've taken a bit of a flyer on Lizette Salas @120 in the British Ladies' Open.

My Lizzie is playing well and I just might get a decent sweat.

She shot a lovely opening 68(-4) followed by an almost equally flawless round apart from one poor shot on the thirteenth hole which cost her a triple-bogey when she was serenely coasting at -7 within hailing distance of the leaders, consequently only shooting a level-par 72 in the second round.

I'm still hopeful that Liz can do the biz.

Tiger goes 7 shots clear in the Bridgestone after shooting a 9 under 61 in round two. Jeez.
