Last night I was railing the online Day 1. They were at the stage where it was the last '€300 refund' seat and someone went out. On the same hand someone else then got knocked out who had a shorter stack. This short stack got the seat but how many chips will they have since in theory they lost them all?

AFAICS, these 19 haven't been added to the Day 2 list yet...

The issue you refer to is being looked at by DTD. The player posted on the previous page of this thread and has written to DTD for clarification

interesting scenario...the question was hypothetically asked a few weeks ago as it could well have happened and now has.

I am sure DTD will come up with a solution that is fair but to be honest chips can't really be taken off the player who won them so you would think an average chip stack entry in to day 2 would be the answer (as the finishing position was a 3,000 euro seat and not a 300 euro seat)...but of course this could open a can of worms for below average stacks already through and create a shove fest for the remaining bubbles online.

Yeah cant give him average stack for day 2 imo, deffo not fair.  He finished with 0 chips, isnt fair to anyone that did finish with chips.  Also agree cant take chips off the person who won that pot at the end.

I don't think you can give the player an average stack. I finished 24th when 24 went through to day 2 and if I had known I would receive an average stack if busting I would have played the last hand very different.

There is no suggestion that they will do this, apart from smurf. Would say it was highly unlikely. He had 6-7k at the start of the hand, no way is he getting 50k+ imo.
