Cheers JMW. Is the taste suppressed in brown sauce as well when cold?
So Tal it's just down to preference then.

source: Heinz Ketchup
Quote
Q: Do I need to refrigerate Ketchup?
A: Because of its natural acidity, Heinz® Ketchup is shelf-stable. However, its stability after opening can be affected by storage conditions. We recommend that this product, like any processed food, be refrigerated after opening. Refrigeration will maintain the best product quality after opening.
That's best quality - not necessarily best flavour; cold suppresses the flavour of everything.
Fair enough. Never been one to worry about being a lone ranger.

The type of beans is another thread itself
. Makes no odds to me
as I normally have industrial amounts of Tabasco sauce
in mine.
Yeah stop derailing the thread man! Start a 'Type of Beans' thread!
That said I'm a convert Branstons fanboy!!!

Always quote your sauces, kids.

Never thought of putting ketchup in the fridge before. Doesn't that mean that you're putting really cold sauce onto your hot food?
Mine can stay in the cupboard for months between uses and it's always fine when I come to use it.

Nuked. Who has time for warming beans through in a pan and the additional washing up that brings? 5 mins in the microwave.

2 mins, quick stir and then another 30 seconds, works fine. 5, wow, there'd be no juice left!

2mins 40secs is perfect, stir before pouring the entire serving over four slices of buttered toast.
NB - That's butter, not a substitute for butter, and the toast should be from a proper loaf, not some poor limp slice of plastic bagged factory output
