GL with those Simon.
I was very keen on a few quid on Woody Bay in that race on his first turn out for Mark Walford. Owner looked to have two in its last race and was going to sell which ever was beat the most. Had a rough passage and thought it was one to note. Back to a winnable mark and been running ok. Draw puts me off a bit, but its been done before. At 25s, I can take a chance.
Very keen on following up New Providence at Salisbury. 9/2 looks ok.
Got to like someone who has got the balls to put up second outsider of twelve at 25s
Tough race
As you well know Trev, I make plenty of mistakes
, but in playing these sort of prices, Its been a long time since I can recall going 25 races without a winner. Close plenty of times! But, Im pretty sure I can get it right often enough to stay ahead of the game. Fingers crossed!
We all get it wrong at times impossible not toooooo
This country is good at knocking someone that tries and fails when most have not got the courage to even have a go
The funny thing is that this country is also good at knocking someone that is successful

had a little study up today.
2.40 maftoon, if blinkers do the trick this will take a lot of beating, has some smart maiden form and doesnt look a strong race
4.05 unforgiving minute is very interesting here. well bet and overcame all sorts to win on debut and straight into a classified event
instead of a handicap, seems clive cox seems very fond of this one, 6/1 worth small bet
5.50 southern cross, would like to see a bit of money but mark seems reasonable and has improved on every run in maidens and
again weak race and any further improvement for the extra furlong surely sees her in the frame

A rare bet in a maiden for me today in the opener at Haydock
The fav is a Stoute thing who looks green, well touted and slow to learn, the fact it has a lot of big entries means they hold it in some regard but is never the type to be overpriced. The next in is trained by Charlie Appleby, to say he has started a bit slowly at Godolphin is an understatement. Having said that debut run was good and should go close but again at the price not for me.
Have backed LORD BEN STACK at around 13/2 , perfectly good debut here in a race that is already looking strong. Draw not ideal but in a maiden thats not a factor for me. Most importantly Karl Burke is running at 20% SECOND timeout over the last five seasons with a massive roi of around 55% (nearly 200 runners so a big enough sample for this race type)
This suggests he is underrated by the market, often as in this scenario against higher profile trainers.

Mr Trigg, welcome Sir!
Good to have you on board. My little man in the know has also suggested bets on the first two, which helps, and he has suggested I have a goodly bet on Charlottes Lad tonite at Wolves.
Drifted like a barge, but with Prescott, so who knows. GL Mr T

5.10 haydock . Not allocating points to this but thought betting Frosty Berry and A Little bit Dusty, both around 6/1 e/w against a seemingly out of form fav in a weak looking race wouldn't be terrible. Anyone any thoughts?

Would not be for me. Merchant of Medici hates winning is a dog but nearly always runs a place in these heats. The Ducking Stool is a grand old stick around Yarmouth and consistent enough.
A fair bit of depth imo

Not quite in Simons league but happy to take a 25-1 place and 9/2 winner.
