A couple of old monkeys running in races they ran in last year that have caught my eye.

3.00 Hay, ultimate dodgepot Confessional, been very unlucky last couple. CD a nice fit

2.45 Ascot. Heavens Guest tumbling down weights and now had wind done. Might make no difference whatsoever, but at 25, on CD and soft, I have to chuck a few shekels.

In same race Von Blucher was 3rd in this last year when trained by Johnny G. LTO it went for home too soon and if he can be held onto a little longer, could make the frame at 16s too.

GL

Couple of thirds and a decent profit. thumbs up

I have bet Amlad in the 6.45 Nottingham @  4-1, thought the form of recent races looked very solid and a plus that sires progeny do well on surface - in stark contrast to the current  fav. Whose sire has a poor record on tapeta.

Thanks for that - for anyone who wants to get on, please note it is 6.45 Newcastle, not Nottingham.

Good luck

What do we think about Crystal Ocean on Saturday now that the ground is forecast to be no worse than soft?

Goodwood run lto over 1m4f impressed me greatly.

Couldn't resist a few quid earlier on my old mate Directorship in the race named after him, I'm guessing, at 4.15 tomorrow.

Looks to have been brought to the boil for this.

Drifted to 16/1, but coming back in now.

Given a stinker by Hector.

Nothing finished better, and never gonna get a chance to recoup as that was his last race.

Farewell old chap!

Apols to everyone else!

Sadly, yes, repeatedly found trouble where there was none. Once he got clear he flew, but it was all over by then.

Nah. Will immerse myself in horsey study and leave Ralph to keep up the pretence over the winter.

I been right for nearly ten years about AW, and even I am starting to feel bored of fighting the good fight. Evil is entrenched in the host body, and my good work in trying to exorcise the demon has failed. Wink

BFSB are still 8/1 Stradivarious for the Leger tomorrow and paying 4 places after the Desert Skyline's win today.

Obv an unconventional route to the race, and the ground is a question mark, but value is value.   I know you need class, but outstaying works too.

Quite like chancing my arm with Eastern Impact in the Portland tomorrow.

The usual bun fight awaits, but its one of those horses that I thought would like the 5 and a half furlongs of the race.

Dropping handicap mark and should be well berthed in the low numbers.

Adam Mac first time up could be a helpful change.

A Group horse at best, the 28-1 on offer worth a little tickle.

Grin

I'm on VB for the Leger, and got reminded I have  a Defoe & Badou Jack KO/TKO/ double.

Just diverted a few quid onto Eastern Impact, to try and boost the curry funds.
