after two 9 year old this week, now gonna suggest an interest in a horse beat a total of 125 lengths in his first 3 outings.

The Potting Shed 5.15 Southwell, looks not to have been put into any of his races so far, but quiet rides have caught my eye. Seems a stiffish mark to start with, but as a gelding out of Presenting should relish the step up to 3 miles.

Could be anything, goes the hackneyed phrase.

Hi Horsey,  Question for you if you have a chance. Looking at 16.15 Leics today it appears Sofias Number One is 13/2 due to not acting on turf.  Would you rather be a backer or layer at 13/2 ?

at 13-2 just a backer i think but not by a great deal

i actually think the horse might drift some more, did last time at southwell despite the obvious form there very unsexy yard but he does well with this type.

like you say the turf is a big worry has to be.

Nice, 2 out of 2 beaten into 2nd by a neck. Don't tell BadBeat but I greened out some profit on April Ciel it went off at 7/2.

As long as you pretend it was because you thought 7/2 was a touch too short, he won't mind Wink

Not intending to spam my colleagues at Oddschecker - we share offices - but their racing tips seem to have improved of late, & they hit the jackpot yesterday, two tips, two winners, 16/1 & 8/1!

Racing Tips - 04/06/2013

Today looks mainly standard weekday fare with a few classier races at Ripon.

My first bet goes at Ripon in the 3.30 and is Suits Me at 16/1. Now this horse is nearly older than me but I feel has been underestimated by the early market today. It is a highly competitive race with plenty of in-form horses, but Ted Barron's charge returns on a handicap mark of 87 which is his lowest for nearly two years. More importantly the horse showed most of his old ability last season, running well around the 90 mark in even better races than this.

The horse has never had a long break before in its career so may benefit from the 235 day break today, the trainer has a better record first time out after a long break than most and the horse has plenty of form at Ripon throughout its career. The field looks to have plenty of horses who like to lead or race handily which is not ideal but a horse up with the pace is usually favoured at Ripon.

The last race at Lingfield on the polytrack catches my eye. It is a typical class 6 mile handicap which fills the weekday schedule. The horse I like is Super Duplex, who has uninspiring form figures of 245080 but has been backed from 16/1 in to 10/1 this morning.

The horse is not the easiest to win with but in my opinion the last few runs can easily be ignored from the formbook. His last three starts have all been over too short a trip and ridden by inexperienced apprentices. The horse has been settled in rear in each start and never had the pace to get involved, and as a result the handicapper has very kindly dropped Super Duplex to a mark of 58. Now considering he ran a good race on Feb 13th over 10 furlongs here when finishing 4th to Understory in a class 5 (a much stronger race than this) I feel this is more than fair.

The horse is ridden by Ian Mongan today, who is the go-to jockey for the trainer and has been on board for all of the horses wins and most of its best runs. The dangers are numerous but I feel this horses recent form figures do not tell the whole story and I fancy it to go close at the very least today.
1pt win
