i am not saying this applies to you but i have a friend who is obsessed with the hills free bets

All well and good but he then does not put any time into what he uses the free bets on themselves

I can honestly say it at least semi applies to me.  I try to follow fred as much as possible, i also look for decent priced bets and dont split them into each way bets (basically as Doobs suggested), however i guess i see them as a free shot, which they are.  But i should take more care into how i choose to use that free shot.  I'm also guilty of using them too quickly, rather than waiting for a decent bet to come up (within limit as I think they expire after 7 days).

Angus McNae and Mark Johnson just agreed that French Ties is 'an honest sort'...

You are opposing HECTOR'S CHANCE? (3.55 Gooders).

A very well handicapped horse in the 2.00 at Carlisle today.

Top weight Kuanyao.

Was useful reliable horse with Peter Makin and has shown little for Dandy Nicholls so far, but shown glimmers of form in recent runs and probably been teed up for something. Last and pretty much only time he ran on an uphill finish, like todays, he won at Newmarket

Normally avoid amateur races like this, but I have watched several vids of the jockey and he seems more compatant than most of these, and I think 8-1 is a nice little ew oppo in a race that wont take much winning.

Worth a little interest

good luck adz

Tough race the fav should win (somehow beat the bent easterby thing last time when it was 15lbs at least well in) but the jockey has looked very poor so far (only 3 rides so far)

She works for the stable so screams a little bit to me of trying to get her up and running. Silly Billy responds to plenty of driving not really a great traveller but game not sure she will suit him.

Having said that he is still well in based on that last win.

Like Nicholls in these type of races just seems to be on a general decline as a trainer these days

More worried about Lothair tbh. Sangster seems half decent and been some money for it, plus similar winning profile on uphill finishes.

Fingers crossed. Not a major investment and would be happier to see some late cash.

Get the impression DN is a real party animal. I suspect each winner signals a good party and results in taking the eye of the ball a little. I reckon he still has it, but I expect he needs this sort of barren spell to re-energise and refocus over the next few years.

He is too good and too shrewd to just lose it this quick, IMO
