Anyone know the status of Binocular for this season?

Been retired, Keith.

BINOCULAR, winner of the 2010 Champion Hurdle, has been retired after he was diagnosed with a heart problem which trainer Nicky Henderson said went some way to explaining the nine-year-old's below-par performances last season.

The JP McManus-owned hurdler, last seen finishing 28 lengths behind Hurricane Fly in this year's Champion Hurdle in one of only two starts last term, had not returned to training this season while he underwent further veterinary examination in Ireland.

Henderson said: "Extensive tests have been done on him and it appears he has a heart issue that is not going away so the decision was taken to retire him. I think you would have to conclude that there was something underlying that we couldn't detect that would easily explain some of last season's performances."

I like Pindar today up at Newcastle in the 1.20.  It's a consistent animal and I thought 4/1 would have been a fair price for an e/w punt to nothing. It's a tricky race but I also like the jockey and was surprised to see 11/2 available with VC this morning. I have thrown a pony e/w at it and may well have a few pound more later today once there is a proper market to take note of.

The 2 tickets i won are for Friday 20th December at Ascot in the premier enclosure, unfortunately i cannot make it that day. It would be a shame for them to go to waste so i am quite happy to give them to whoever wants them. First come first gets, post that you want them in the thread then DM me a postal address and as soon as i receive them i'll send them on.

Said I wouldn't post about Brookhouse horses on TFT, but the Welsh Nat has been Goulanes target all year.

He arrives in tip top form. At 16s + I cant put anyone off.

My serious money has been on Merry King for some time, but I have some tasty numbers on Goulanes at fancy prices, and will be cheering him if the pair jump the last upsides.

PS, not at Cheppy, as I hate the place......full of W......
