My fav flat meeting of the year starts tomorrow up in Chester, and now going to be busy until racing tomorrow, but prices available for each of the races I'm interested in so....
1.45. Lily Agnes Stakes. Its sponsored by Michael Owen who owns Manor house Stables where Tom Dascombe trains and they are always very keen to win this. I recall Julius Geezer wining in 2010 the last time i went(in the Betfred-i think-bookies in town after racing, me and a friend had the last leg of a treble running onto The Cool Guy at the Chelt Hunter Chase evening. In the bookies was a certain statistical dressing gown wearing pundit from the tv, who had me and my mate in stitches everytime he kept taking his false teeth out and checking them for food bits. So much we missed cheering our horse home....happy days). Anyway, he also had the winner last year.
This year, the stable have a once raced horse called Roudee(The Roodeye is the nickname of Chester Race Course, so I think you know where this is going). it won its only race and looks to be just the ticket.
Sadly it has a very poor draw out in 9, but this also looks a moderate race, with lots of the entries being form smaller stables and not much form, and I have to suggest a little ew at 11/2 with Slybet or Sid.
2.45. i mentioned to a few people over the last week I fancied Glenard for the Chester Cup at slightly bigger prices, i must confess. Every time they step this horse up it looks to improve a smidge but always leaving the impression, a bit further would help even more. Hills family love winners at chester, and there has been money for it since it got the last place in the race. Again drawn badly, but looks a poor Chester Cup to me, and ew @ 10s still looks just about ok.
Finally one the form book boys will laugh at...
3.15 Ballesteros. Bought by Marwan Koooolcash, who targets Chester winners, like I target the kebab shop every Saturday night. This horse has a single chester run a couple of years ago but he was a most impressive winner, and he is now only two pounds above that mark but with a trainer who seems to be getting a new tune from him. Fahey, also has bought into the MK desire for Chester success and will be doing his best to please his biggest patron.
Theme of the day, drawn badly, but he is a slow starter anyway, and if you get a good draw here as a slow starter, that can often cause you more problems, than being drawn a bit wider, and therfore having time to find your legs/flo in the race. His last race at Newbury looked like a lovely limber up for this, and with Frank booked I think 10s looks tidy with WH.
Gonna need some luck in running tomorrow, but sure we have three horses tuned up to give their best. GL

Glenard in 2:45 with paddypower is money back if second or third.
Paying top 4 too.

Go careful with Ballesteros. It looks like he may have Olazabal feet!
Apparently he had sore feet this morning and may not run, but as Koooolcash is always keen to have runners galore, who knows.
I'm already on but the normal day of race top up, I shall leave.

I really really fancy Caspian Prince in the 3.15.
Love the jockey booking too.
Drawn in one, they won't see which way he's gone.

As long as he hasn't got my legs, we'll hopefully be ok

Today's bets:
4.00 Fakenham Lamb Or Cod 5/6
5.40 Fairyhouse Royal Shot 20/1 Doesn't seem like this would have to improve much to have a real chance here, backed e/w 4 places with BV (PP are paying 5 places, but unfortunately make it a 12/1 shot)
An odds-on winner and a non-runner today

I used to go to Chester for the May Meeting every year and can't say I backed many in trap 9. We need funds for our scoop 6 addiction. Seems to be getting backed but still 11/2 with beteverydayoftheyeae and you get that 4/1 offer. Go the Prince.

Like Suegioo in the Cup
Nice low draw
Races up with the pace
Breeding and running style suggests this big step up in trip will help
Ryan Moore booked
No pace really amongst the low numbers be surprised if Moore is not in a good position with 2 furlongs to go, whether the horse fancies it/good enough from there im not sure,
Backed it at 16's earlier today

If ever I've seen a horse tailor made for a course it's Caspian Prince and Chester.
And when he got he the red box I imagine Tony Carroll got his tired old todger out and knocked one out.
Probably miss the kick now I've given it the big build up, but take a look at a couple of his videos.
Flying machine.

Also like SIR MAXIMILIAN in the sprint
Goes well/best fresh
fairly handicapped
good draw
good chester form
Nicky Vaughan to Tim Pitt a plus (trainer switch)
8/1 is fair
