Today could see a parting of the ways between a mismatched couple.
My relationship with Elusivity has been a one street, and akin to me falling in love with a what looked like a beautiful woman who continually lets me down, but I keep asking her back and paying for holidays, cars and expensive meals, but getting nothing back in return.
And so it is since I started following Elusivity a few seasons ago. He looked like he was about to become to become a great sprinter, putting up performance after performance of immense promise, but always, not quite getting there, being badly draw, or the ever popular excuse "unlucky in running". He has been through 3 trainers during our time together and I have started to pass him over the last couple of runs and I felt the spell had finally been broken.
Then last night I see he has been drawn down what appeared to be the golden strip on the near side of the middle of the course at York. Bugger. Peter Crate had always said that he would take 4/5 runs before he had a target for him. Gulp. Then I notice his only run at York over 5f was one of his best. Oh shit. He also has my fav hold up jockety of the moment on board in Shane Kelly.
Last chance matey. Plenty of 12s available and even some 14s on Betdaq, but I expect that is peanuts. Will probably be the end of an era, but the stars may finally have aligned the either kill or cure me of this obsession. GL, or just wish me luck,
I understand I could well be going in alone!
We will hold hands & lose our money together, I've invested a tiddlerarse £10 EW.
Note that £3.65 are quoting 16/1, though I could not get on, as they only offered me £1 EW.

Did anyone see the interview from York Races yesterday with the breeder of Madame Chiang?
If that sort of thing interests you, unlikely, I know, but I've penned some stuff about that most remarkable woman, here....
