Afternoon
Quite keen on Blue Surf in the first at Goodwood tomorrow 1.55.
Was joint fav for the race last year and ran ok, but never really in the hunt. He has run some nice races this year without looking too dangerous and i suspect this has been his target all year, as tomorrow they bring out the first time cheekpieces. It seems ok on all sorts of ground
Has some reasonable back form at Goodwood and as its the Harwood local course, they will be doubly keen to get a winner.
Compared to the 13/2 it went off last year, I'm very happy with the 20-1 its priced up at right now. If it is fancied it could be quite well backed from that price. GL
Dont think the term "running good" will be seen anywhere in this thread. Pays 5 places. Naturally finish 6th. In Lennox Stakes, back Anjaal ew at 25s and finishes third, after 3 get taken out, beaten about half a length tops. Marv,

Gooder looks to difficult today and I shall have only one bet, but it will be max ew on Ray Ward in the first.
Kieron gave it a modest(at best)ride at RA and got caught up when travelling well, went from being in a good position to 25 lengths behind with 2f left. Finished 9 lengths behind and easing up.
I noted on TFT yesterday, i was worried about the 3 yr old fav over the max distance, so money where mouth is, and hope Crowley does a better job than Fallon.

Goodwood.
Lets see if I am learning from the BE stuff. I picked my selections earlier, I hoped I was thinking through the races like Neil. If not then I'm still not getting it and I'm probably going to swerve picking my own stuff at all on horses on future as barring some miracles it just seems like a slow way of losing money steadily to me.
Race 1 - Lion Beacon, Lieutanent Miller (2nd last year) and Ray Ward (would be my 3 against the fav) I took Adz comments on oard about the fav. (All e/w)
Race 2 - Cloudscape and Observational small win bets.
Race 3 - Only fool would be against Kingman - stepfoward me. Outstrip very small win only.
Race 4 - Probably going to wait to nearer race time and make sure we have the 8 and back Tupi quite biggish e/w.
Race 5 - Innaguration, Royal Razalma and Touchline (all e/w)
Race 6 - Looks difficult if forced into a bet I'd be betting Patterned small e/w.
Race 7 - George Rooke, Liberty Jack and an absolute flyer on Valais Girl. (again all e/w bigger on the first 2 and the last one would be smallish)
I think were I need help is staking properly. Out of the selections my nap would probably be Lieutanent Miller and NB Tupi.
Thoughts on these? To see if I am understanding things should I be given my reasoning behind each selection or for purpose of this fred is it ok just to stick selections up?

As a general rule of thumb i tend to back the draw more at Leicester than the horses themselves. My opinion fwiw is horses coming down the middle/far side seem to perform better.

Whats worse is most of ours the last week have been beaten by unfathomable types
Fair play to Ian Williams though only had that two years and won on debut for him at Wolverhampton of about 50!

Annoying thing is if i was a 3/4 man per race Teak/Racy etc would have been backed as savers. Ho hum.

Amazing that Teak won that race, because SdS was battering him with a fair way to go!
