LOL. Surely its because he is an excellent Trainer!

On another note, entirely unrelated, I am ready a lovely book at the moment called Doped, all about the early days of the Ladbrokes and Will Hill Empires and how associates were alleged involved in race fixing. Smashing read so far. Totally unrelated though.

Sure i have mentioned the story of Art Scholar before but anyway.

Was with Gary Moore and a friend of mine had a very small share., Gary had it very fit for debut and it won which was a bit of a surprise as Gary thought it would struggle to ever win a race and to possibly not bother keeping it in training.

Anyway after that it struggled for him and Gary Moore kept telling him to retire it/take up something else with it. It eventually went to Appleby for about £800 after getting hammered in a class 6 at Brighton of 55. Cue less than 18 months later winning the November handicap from 93 Smiley

Suffice to say my friend was not to happy that day as he had numerous chances to buy it outright for under a grand!

Subsequent events with other good trainers having horses suddenly improve for the same switch have always made me wonder, especially as said trainer had a brief spell training a few years back with no success.

Beloved Southwell is back tommorow night

such a hard card ironically the only big rick i think i can find is HIDDEN ASSET at 10's in the 8.35 trained by Appleby....

Be backed the last twice its been there for him into fav (run shockers both times) they dont usually miss and has been of again for nearly a year this is a terrible race and a long absence is a bonus for this trainer rather than a worry. The fact he brings it back here again is also a plus as he trains near the track so he must think it now acts on it.

Ones thing for sure it wont be this price this time tommorow

On further inspection the 8.05 is interesting

Low grade 3 year old only staying handicap. Johnny Murtagh brings two over which is strange in itself (the other one is an ex Barney Curley beast already being punted in another race) and he has booked Fallon for this one.

Some will see that as a positive but he has often commented how much he hates riding Southwell and the horse looks beatable.

I am going to take it on with two small bets, BUY OUT BOY 9/1 appleby again was well backed the only time in its career it ran here and ran ok from 62 in a class 5. Now down to a class 6 and up again in trip i suspect will be punted again. Even smaller bet on OFELIA for Ellison at 13/2, ran well last time in a seller staying on well looks like needs this trip and like most of these is unexposed at these trips.

So three bets for me tomorrow which are

8.05 BUY OUT BOY 9/1 AND OFELIA 13/2

8.35 HIDDEN TALENT 10/1

slightly more on Hidden Talent than the other two, gd lk wont be around tommorow

Think I'll have a small e/w bet @ 14-1 on Bennelong in the last at Kempton tonight, seems a decent price for a C&D winner off around this mark.
