off to ladies day at doncaster st ledger meeting tomorrow. this track out of any track has been an absolute graveyard for me every time ive been. Ive put a days long study in today and if i brick again ill just call it a jinx track.

1.40 small saver gregoria, decent e/w bet penny royale, dont like the jolly out of stall 4 and easterby;s charge has just given me the impression in every run that its been targeted for something. very modest stakes
2.10 definatel1y think the bet is Al Thikara e/w at 12/1 i got a shade bigger but IF this horse is sound its sure to be a player back at 7f, had tiny saver on bragging
2.40 absolutely all in on arabian comet at 5/1 ew. i was at the meeting the time when seal of approval unseated and injured hayley turner and this race is stronger and i didnt believe SOA would have won that day anyway. this is such a solid e/w bet im excited
3.15 ok, we had a word to bet acaster malbis on its debut and it got beat by the stable second string (tilt) and then was fancied next time when eased and something was wrong. (was fancied that day) this race has a habbit of throwing up shock winners and this horse i think is still well regarded, had decent e/w bet 40/1
also had small win bet on natural order

3.45 ive bet long cross at 4/1 semi decent bet, is thought a lot of just waiting to hear from those close to stable as to whether i should top up
4.25 looks impossible to me, had tiny bet on blue waltz as the most likely to improve but not really a good betting race
5.00  impossible without stable connections
5.35 really like tagula night here at 20/1  have also bet baby strange at 20/1

Get some sleep ffs...I am wide awake and looking forward to doing cobblers on above selections

Good luck old chap.

Only horse in my tracker today is Penny Royale, so pleased to see someone else likes it too.

Backed Al thakira last night too.

Arabian looks solid after York run last time, but I have had a good bet on Island Remede that ran against it in that race. Looks to be crying out for this, and whilst yours does look rock solid, at 33-1 I have to follow up over the longer distance.

Finally, took 14s on El Viento last night with Victor as Ryan on it and Fahey seems sweet on it.

Have a great day mate

3.35 Epsom only race that interests me today

With 14 runners not a good each way shape and given i think two are worth backing have had two win only bets.

Really struggling to see why Enliven is so short, won a weak Chester maiden last time and wears the hood (big negative any headgear for Balding). Obviously unexposed but backing a filly in first time handicaps this competitive is a recipe for being skint.

Aqua Ardens is second fav and is rock solid loves switchback courses wins races and will almost certainly run well. Career high mark makes him hard to back though.

King of Macedon is always backed and im never sure why now 15 defeats since winning on debut, no thanks.

My main fancy is WEEKENDATBERNIES at 8/1, Ed De Giles has had an excellent last 18 months especially with handicappers and like many this one seems to be progressing steadily. Last run at Sandown was fine, easy to forgive a poor Kempton run before that and won here on handicap debut. With the excellent Louis Steward claiming 5lbs is now only 1lb higher than that now and sure there is more to come back in a bigger field.

Have had a smaller win bet on a complete rag in RAKAAN AT 33/1. Following horses claimed by Brendan Powell has been very profitable of late certainly since a certain ex jumps jockey has done most of his training for him Smiley

To be fair this horse has very little turf form but just showed a glimmer at Goodwood last time finishing very well after being drawn in the coffin box. Have a big doubt can win on turf especially in a race this competitive and may be being run to get the mark down for the all weather coming soon but at the price worth chancing from such a declining handicap mark.

good luck all

I was having a chat with a player next door, & sort of apropros something & nothing, the name Fred Flippance (what an awesome name) came up, who I gather was the Head Lad who rode Tingle Creek in all his work.

One thing led to another, & I came across this little profile of John Hills, which I found quite enjoyable, especially......

A memorable day was bing sent to Las Vegas with pocket loads of cash to place on an unknown horse called Crews Hill who was running at Bay Meadows. He had won the previous year’s Steward’s Cup, and they didn’t see which way he went!

http://www.johnhills.com/johnhills.htm

Pardon the minor derail, but I love these little racing anecdotes, & I hope a few others will chip in, too.

As you were.

Little squeak for King of Normandy in the 5pm at Donny today. Around 6/1 so not too much value, but word is good from the Hannon yard regarding its chance today back in the UK after its debut in France last time out.
