Will have 1 pt e/w Sir Abbot @ 10-1 3.10 Punch. His second to Bentelimar looks even stronger after the latter won well in the 2.40 Punch today

Ridic calling off tomorrow's jump meetings first thing this morning. It's all thawed within hours in the fens. CotC's buying in too heavily to the polar vortex shiz obv.

Surely Sire de Grugy is a penalty kick in The Game Spirit on Saturday.

The evs with bsb looks like a gift to me.

Very interested to see the weight given to Night in Milan...

Wanted to back it last year but never made it off the reserve list.

If it runs and the ground is good, 50s could look decent enough.

My favourite horse, but first time out after an injury, I'm happy enough to watch him hose up unbacked...

Schweppes tomorrow. Usual puzzle but the front two of Nicholls and Fry look too short and with five places available I've had an EW bet on Aso. Won its last two and off the same mark as Calipto ans Activial with the penalty but it's Aso's third to Caracci Apache back in December that interested me more. Beaten four lengths conceding six pounds looks pretty good after Caracci's win over Blaklion over a longer trip the other day.
I can't have this a 25-1 shot, more 14s, 16s.

"The Schweppes" brings back memories of Ryan Price and Josh Gifford.

Hill House was one that trotted up for them amid a major furore.

After a pretty awful day I thought that Arzal had got me out of it on the racing when it was called 5th on the ch4 commentary, but lo and behold after my afternoon siesta it has actually come 6th.

Even Richard bloody Hoiles has got it in for me today Sad

Surprised to see no mention of McCoy's retirement.

His record suggests we'll not see the like of him again in our lifetime.

He has ridden over 4,000 winners, & been Champion Jockey for 19 years on the bounce, beating the previous record of 7.

He is as pre-eminent in NH as Phil Taylor in Darts, a freak of statistics.

I don't follow racing closely these days, but from what I know, he has kept his nose clean most of his career, & if he was on your horse, you knew he'd give it as good a chance as anyone could.

I recall in Piggott's latter years, regretting I never watched the great man more than I did, same applies to McCoy.

He made his decision known immediately after - once again - riding 200 winners in a season - he'd obviously made that decision a while ago, & held back the news until # 200 was under his belt.

Seemed reasonable enough to me, & from my distant armchair, he seems a decent enough bloke.

Was quite surprised to see Mr Camel Tweet this....

Never thought AP would go for this ego massaging farewell tour. Expected he'd jump off a winner one day and say "that's it, I'm finished"

Seems a bit harsh to me - if ever a sportsman deserved a decent farewell, surely it's McCoy. He has contractual committments to Owners & Trainers, & carrying on until April does not seem unreasonable to me.

Is there a side to McCoy I'm blind to?

Not having a pop at His Camel-Ness, but McCoy never struck me as someone who needs his ego massaged.
