zomg!
Your avatar just reminded me we are only a few weeks away! Ridiculously excited! Wonder if you will be bale to DL on I tunes same day as shown in states?
And if I see spoilers ill be devvd! Best TV show in years
I am actually playing catch up, only started on it about 3 weeks ago and I am already halfway through season 4.
Already consider it the greatest show of all time
.
Without giving away spoilers, what are you excited about? Is it the start of season 5 or the final episode?
In order to tie things up nicely, I recently called it "modern day Shakespeare" on twitter - just incredible!
Season 5 runs for 8 episodes, but doesn't "end" as such, its TBC,
Seasons 4&5 are the best IMO so you still have much enjoyment to come! Lucky B'#s?/rd

Pretty scuzzy.
As someone who is very new to the poker media world, I have been writing strategy and a Wikipedia entry. Some of the strategy is 100% off the top of my own head, with a little sense checking afterwards. Some of it has been researched and then written in my own style.
The Wiki entry was cobbled together from the two online news sources.
I am wary of plagiarism and try to avoid it as much as is possible. The piece you show is clearly over the line. What about in cases where I am being asked to write on subjects I do not know first hand? I think I have been on the right side of researching and then writing an original piece.

The thing I love is how unpredictable it is. There has not been an episode where my jaw has not dropped to the floor. Sometimes that is because of a crazy plot twist, sometimes it is because of some incredibly graphic action, sometimes it is from something hilarious and sometimes it is from something really subtle and brilliantly observed about human nature (I remember being just as entertained at the scene where Skylar makes up the blackjack story as I was at some of the major action scenes and twists).
There really is no other show like it, it simply is better than everything else.

It is tough to stay on the right side of the line, especially when a lot of the news is the same, ie. man wins tournament.
The important thing is giving proper citations more than anything. Obviously if you see who made the November Nine on Blondepoker then write about it, you don't have to give a citation to Blonde because it is public knowledge and you can get the full information from WSOP.com, which is possibly where they got it anyway. But if the first place the information appeared is on a site you have to quote the source.
The example today is much worse in one sense, because that piece wasn't news, it was opinion, so it is not like they 'covered the story too' they purposely set out to copy mine.

Clearly. Opinion vs news I get the difference on. What path to recompense can you take if any?

Most of the time it's not worth bothering. The legalities of online publishing are sketchy, both websites are in different jurisdictions, the piece is 'different' enough to get away with it, and the piece itself wasn't the most amazing bit of writing in the world anyway.
Best form of recourse is to name and shame.

Truly enjoyed this bit of wordage today
http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-harsh-truths-that-will-make-you-better-person/
Does this mean I get to date Zooey Deschanel?
And for the record, Yes. I would.
Hands off, she is mine!
I found the first few episodes of Breaking Bad to be a grind, I really had to battle to get through the first few episodes of Season One. It didn't quite give me the urge to watch more like Entourage, for example. I feel like such a cretin.
Plagiarism in poker seems to be quite an issue;
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/i-received-c-d-letter-attorney-pokervip-poker-update-1353767/
I guess because its easy to knock up a semi respectable site and try for some affiliate dough.

The first season of BB I loved, but it is series two onwards it comes into its own. Worth the grind.
Yes I saw that thread on 2+2. There was also a notable one with the iGaming post earlier this year:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/igaming-post-plagiarism-scandal-1301372/
My suspicion with plagiarisers in poker is that rather than trying to get credit for other peoples work, the motivation is much more to appear like a legit content site. For example, the iGaming Post above, I believe they never really considered themselves a content site, but wanted to appear as though they were so as to look legitimate for their awards show which attracts lots of sponsorship.
Happens a lot, I think I wrote about it here but I briefly worked for a magazine who never even sent their magazines out to anywhere but a handful of casinos and the offices of people who bought advertising space to make it look like they had a huge distribution (GX magazine, ended badly as you can imagine)

Many of you will remember me losing about 20lbs in the 'Blonde will make you thin' thread. I went from 15st 5lbs to just under 14st. It was mainly so I looked half decent on my wedding.
That was 18 months ago, I managed to keep most of the weight off for a while, but weighed myself on Monday and I was
14st 11lb
. I weighed myself because my jeans started feeling tight. I have a wedding this weekend and I
just
fit into my suit comfortably.
I've been up and down weights like a yoyo for most of my adult life. Heaviest weight about 19st, lowest weight about 12st 7lbs. I've pretty much always relied on momentum with weight loss. I tend to get really into something (like running, or a personal trainer, or a type of diet) and then keep doing it till I burn out and start putting the weight on.
I mentioned earlier in this blog for the first time in years I actually have free time, so I think I will devote a bit more time to this. The one thing I am never going to do is anything faddy I cant keep up, everything has to be based around building new habits. I kinda did this last time by reducing my bread intake which helped a lot and is probably the reason I haven't gone all the way back to my previous weight (yet). Also I have been lifting weights at the gym instead of cardio, because although cardio burns more calories my understanding is weight lifting has a much longer compound benefit for lasting weight loss.
I find myself a bit sluggish around 5pm to 7pm, and thats also when I start feeling the urge to snack. So the next mini habit I am going to try and build is having a big glass of water and a healthy fruit snack at 3pm. I figured that would reduce my appetite and give me a burst of energy at the 5-7 time.
I'm not going to turn this blog into a weight loss one btw, posting here mainly to keep accountable. But no big goals or challenges here, other than hoping to make a few good habits.

I used to be 5ft 10. Now I'm closer to 5ft 9.
I'm not fat, I'm just a bit short for my weight.
