Watford have signed Odion Ighalo as a striker.  Played in La Liga last season.  Not sure if he's a Deeney replacement or a supplement.

Should do well bit raw still but certainly has something and has played nearly 100 games for Granada since joining Udinese so should be "ready"q

Mammadov is skint. I know for a fact that he's just defaulted on some large loans and further unsecured debt with a well known lender. He's ring fenced his money in Russia and isn't interacting with his bankers to cover pay his debtors. Wednesday won't see a penny.

Our new training facility just opened has just got the highest score in the country. We haven't had a proper training ground for the last 10-15 years.

Pretty incredible.

Hopefully this selling our best players and relying on youth works out well and we produce some talent like Southampton. We had two players in the latest England u21 squad so it's a good start.

Watford were fantastic today.  Played their strongest team after a lot of pre-season experimentation in a 3-5-2 formation.  Paredes is something else!

Will reserve judgement till Norwich away next week, as Bolton looked a bit limited and were 2-0 down within 20 minutes or so and never in it.

Stevie May is a good pick up for Sheff Wed. He's big, strong, direct, scores goals and never stops working the defence.

I missed this, I wished we had taken a punt on him.  Better option than what we have.  Also fits the Celtic PLC model of buying them young trying to develop them and punt them on for a bigger fee.

Sounds encouraging about Stevie May.

Clearly got potential and only 21.

For most clubs buying players to nurture and eventually sell on has to been smart business.

Its finding the right players at the right price.

Given the daft money being paid for strikers, this looks like a good deal.

Time will tell.

Buckley on his way out to Sunderland for at least £2.5m. On his day a great player but been injured for most of last season, his hamstrings are done.

Pretty much our core now gone, upson, bridcutt, Barnes, ulloa and Buckley soon. Around £15m raised in sales and only stockdale been paid for to replace kushczack.

If we don't bring in five quality additions by end of August I will feel sorry for Sami hypia, will have bottom 6 squad.

How was Barnes part of the core? He barely got a game.

Appalling performance first game, money will be spent, don't panic yet!

Watford doing well from sell on clauses at the moment.  Assombolonga and now Buckley.  Think this one is only 15% though.

What? He played 22 times for us until January, and then 21 for burnley (10 subs). He played 79 games in two seasons before that which included about a 8 match ban for tripping up the linesman.

Very much core to our team!

18 points up for grabs against the lesser teams by then. Could be crucial in our relegation battle.

Watford will get 15% of the profit and we paid about £1m, so like £200k.

Went to watch Birmingham vs Cambridge in the league cup tonight. Have a feeling that this season could really be a problem for us. It was a pretty even match vs a team two divisions below us with a lack of quality throughout our team. We have lost our three best players in Zigic, Burke and now Adayemi to Cardiff. Most of our signings are fees from relegated Championship clubs and League One sides.

Clayton Donaldson from Brentford looks as if he could be a handful, but I am not sure he can cut it at this level and David Cotterill can at least pick a pass but I have a feeling we will be the unfortunate combination of fragile at the back and inconsistent up front.

If we avoid relegation then it will be a good season. Then hopefully sometime in 2015 we can get new owners.

Down to SIXTEEN outfield players now with Buckley having his medical.

Something is wrong behind the scenes IMO.
