Actually, I know
Friday I was talking to a couple of players in my day 1 of the Grand Prix about how different the playing experience is now, compared to the old pot limit, unlimited rebuy days at the Gala in Nottingham. A few old names and faces ran across my mind.
Then Sunday, when I sat down for day 2, who should get drawn to my immediate left, but Thewy. Hadn't played for over a year apparently and went back to work as a draughtsman.
Great player, and very pleasant to share a table with (although a bit of a nightmare if chipped up).

Nice guy, but if poker was his sole source of "income", my guess is he went broke.

That Chili Pepper bloke.
Does he still play?
Did he ever have the surgery?
Can he still fit into that kilt?
Does he qualify for the seniors event at DTD?

Thought exactly the same thing yesterday.
He's good. We went to watch UFC in Manchester recently. He's working with troubled kids at the moment, sounds happy.

I did a tiny bit of research and it seems Mr Newth is now well into the noble art of amateur boxing.
I eagerly await the first "Bob and Weave for Charity" event.
I'll bring the sausage rolls.
