This is my log/blog diary. It's intended to run for just 2014 but I didn't want to be a copycat with thread title names, we will see.
This year, I want to continue grinding as hard as I was last year and to continue studying on my game. My biggest weaknesses are lack in motivation on a downswing and focus during bad sessions. After 10 years of playing the game now, I've still not really sussed this one out. Towards the end of last year I felt a bit of a eureka moment in my game. Continuous studying can really help with focus and motivation but you also need the motivation to study. Vicious circle though when you're not in the zone.
I never used to have monetary goals, but since I feel like I am not a slacker with hours I put in I feel that it's a bit of fun to do that. This year, I would like my sharkscope to have an upward trend of $100,000 over all sites. I'm currently backed by MC (James Atkin) where I get to keep a generous percentage of my winnings. I start the year in very little make-up, either 1 or 2k. I give a rough figure because my PC died the other day, and I have details of make-up on there. Last year I felt like I under-achieved, you probably hear this from all poker players, but I've had a lot of big sweats that have crumbled away with victory so close. My biggest miss was 8th in the $215 sunday second chance with $50k UT after being 2/9. Last years graph (April onwards, stars):

I'll also try to post some stuff about outside of my poker life. I am currently living in the Netherlands until the end of March, my girlfriend lives close to a city called Nijmegen and I drove over here with all my gear just before Christmas. Long distance relationships are incredibly difficult but in in this day and age of technology, we make it work.
Feel free to ask me any questions about the Dutch culture, I love culture myself and find it all very interesting so am willing to share some of the differences in this part of the world. Feel free to ask me about anything in this thread, I will do my best to answer them honestly.#
