i am afraid other clubs are seeing you coming

Nature of the beast. We have the money to throw our weight around a bit now and force transfers to happen. I am sure that we have paid over the odds but I still think it's OK business.

No one is quibbling over £5 million overspent on a player if you stay up at the end of the season. We have the money - we need to ensure our long term premiership position.

I am glad the chairman has stuck by his word. 6th highest spending club in the premier league this summer - just got to fit them together now.

Not just that. Prices have increased across the board in the PL along with the increased money the clubs are getting this season from TV.

First look at the new boys in competive action today, just hoping  'the Southampton way' is still there don't mind losing as long as we are playing an attractive game and taking teams on

why is this a cause for celebration when you recommended a bet on them to go down?

that's why I never celebrated on the TfT thread plus my recommendation was for £10

odds on relegation now on betfair 11/2 so the 14/1 was value

could always lay the £15 back now and freeroll for £100+

Is it value?

To be fair, think it is fine to be a fan here and still tip up the relegation bet.  If you start celebrating on TfT it is different.

Keep on cheering Iron. Excellent performance.

Tadic looks a real talent. Bertrand, Clyne combo is electric. Wanyama, Ward Prowse in the centre were excellent.

Add a right winger and get Gardos fit and think the side will be very strong.

Good performance from Southampton.  On that showing, plenty to be optimistic about.

great performance from the team today despite no points

optimistic for the season ahead

yoshida didn't impress (but wasn't his fault for either goal)

but apart from that things are looking good

give the new players a chance to bed in and we could come out ok this year
