I expect Koeman will be distinctly unimpressed with the way this transfer has gone through. He said in his press conference 48 hours ago that he was confident and Alderweireld wanted to come and had been in contact with him personally.

Somewhere along the way, things have become confused and we seemed slow off the mark. We were happy to match Spurs wages (£50K a week) and fee no issue.

Need to replace him now as Martina was never intended as a replacement.
