Forget PMs questions! Sheep questions likely to be much more contraversial!

Broadcasters have put forward new proposals for the TV election debates which would include the SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Greens.

It comes after David Cameron refused to take part unless the Green Party was included.

The BBC and ITV would stage debates involving the Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems, Greens, UKIP, SNP and Plaid.

Sky and Channel 4's plans to host a head-to-head between Mr Cameron and Ed Miliband remains unchanged.

The move comes after discussions between the broadcasters following a political row over the proposed format for the debates to be held during the election campaign.

TV debates with seven people in are shit. Happens with the party primaries in the US presidential elections - they're unwatchable as everyone gets about 2 sentences to answer a question and they get so little airtime that they spend the whole time desperately trying to cram in the 2 pre-prepared soundbites that their people wrote for them.

this is why DC wants it like this

less scope to get "Clegged" by a third party having a lot of airtime to look fresh and appealing (as in 2010, though the consequence wasn't what those who voted for him wanted)

head to head he must fancy his chances with EM

in a seven person debate its all just noise

Should jazz it up and have a vote them out option after say 30 minutes of QA and the viewers can decide who they want to hear more from.

I believe that's the most sensible post you have ever made on a non-sporting thread.

Will Scotland's political map look like this in 2015? If so the SNP may win No10 for Cameron

Why?

That map shows less Tory MPs (0 from 1) and won't the SNP back a Labour minority Government?

its in the article

40 less labour MPs in scotland, so the argument goes, makes the tories the largest party in a hung parliament (this is now favourite in betting markets, sportingindex has the two big parties neck and neck). As the incumbent they get first crack at governing as a minority or forming another coalition

February 1974 redux? With Liberals 1974 replaced by SNP?

PP were offering (are offering?) 4/1 2 general elections in 15, which looked interesting

no coalition, someone minority governs on a supply and confidence basis, they get nothing done and have to go again later in the year etc etc

hung parliament is a 1/5 shot on betfair, so thats the first part

then see if SNP or libs or Dup or greens hold the balance to form a coalition or not
