well that's slightly different, as they are more single issue parties as far as Westminster are concerned and there are Scottish and Welsh parliaments

but in principle yes, i agree

SNP are certainly no longer a single issue party although on principle they were founded as one, very little of there election marketeering is about independence anymore
although i suspect for the next Westminster  and holyrood elections it will be as they try to win the votes of the disillusioned 45%

well we are really getting into West Lothian here

With devolution max, and their own parliament, the argument for SNP and Plaid to be in the 2015 debates is weaker than UKIP and green in my opinion

(i don't agree with them) but no, the focus of course is on europe and immigration (thats two) but there's a full manifesto for 2015 coming

Is anyone really surprised Labour have that position on EVFEI?

Presume solution on debates is SNP and PC get to have ones in Wales and Scotland, not sure why they'd think they would feature in any outside their own borders?

I'm not surprised that Labour have taken the position they have over EVFEL, but they have been put on the back foot imo by Cameron in him doing this.  The level of resentment in Scotland aimed at Labour right now is as bad as I can remember.   I don't think many are going to buy the line of Vote anyone else get the tories line that they have used up here for too long.  The only thing that saves them is the political sectarianism that exists.  But when guys like Alex Mosson, Charlie Gray, Pat Kelly and many others are saying Labour no longer represent me then they are in dire straits.    So to even refuse to debate this subject they have boxed themselves into a corner.

A cynic might suggest that this is because in the aftermath of the indy referendum their choices were to (a) talk about something else or (b) give everyone their P45s

A cynic would be wrong then because the SNP for the last 20 years at least have not been a single issue party.    Especially not so in a post devolution Scotland.

That's pretty pathetic of Labour.  They've just looked at their focus groups and decided to come up with an anti immigration stance.  They were highly pro mass immigration before UKIP, so at least have the conviction and integrity to argue why you think this is the correct view.

Spineless.

The idea of red ed, balls and their paper thin shadow cabinet running this country scares me more and more by the week. Maybe that's the plan to sort out the net migration problem as it will be 'last one to leave please turn out the lights' moment if they do get in.

About 75% of people in the uk support tighter immigration, it would be pretty stupid of any of thr main parties not to be seen to be doing something if they want people to vote for them.

All the main parties seem to be making an effort, I guess they must be thick like the 75% who read thr daily mail lol.

Funny story from last night, could put it here or on thr scots independence thread i guess.

Am at an overseas conference with a group of Docs. The subject got onto the recent vote. A few of the Indian delegates were pissing themselves laughing because one of them said 'the whole world is trying to get into the UK to come and work and Scotland are the only ones that actually want to leave wtf!'   Cheesy
