You are woefully optimistic Keith. Con minority gov very possible on 310+ with vote by vote support from others.

Agreed, gets interesting when con, dup and lib dem can't make 323.

Lib Dems may not have a choice but to back the Tories if they're asked.

Why?

They have been decimated by being part of a coalition. They have no loyalty to party who has basically rumped them.

If the Tories need <10 seats, they could ask them.  Lib Dems don't have a lot else going for them, maybe accepting under the promise that they'll rebuild and be stronger?

Just a thought.

Dimbleby now suggesting that Labour could have 5 seats in Scotland.
Quite amusing to watch, as no-one seems to have any idea what is going to happen.
Exit poll has thrown everyone.

correct. It appears that the further south you go the more the fear of snp has hurt Labour in marginals. Ukip set to be 3rd in votes too.

For anyone interested in such things (and I'm really aiming this at Tighty) on Sky Arts right now they have live coverage of the Sky News gallery - live behind the scenes coverage of a live TV programme.

Whilst there is the square root of fuck all actually happening in the election, this is actually quite watchable. Not least because Sky have a couple of hotties in the backroom staff.

Latest breaking news - they've just had someone come round asking them if they want cupcakes.

I cannot imagine the Liberals going with the Tories again. They've been decimated.

If Tories get 310, yes they'll make a government.

They might get 290.

Let's see what happens in a few marginals before annoiting Cameron just yet.

Lib dems fought a campaign based on being part of a coalition and continuing the work.  Nick clegg said it over and over again the heart in a Tory government coallition. I can't see them changing that stance if asked.

The only thing going against labour so far is the exit poll, but yet the rumours going round is that labour are already doing ok.

What was weird when voting though is how easy it is to vote as someone else if you wanted

farage has lost his seat possibly but has won the world tonight vote wise nationally.  He will surely stay on as he is the face of his party to the masses.  How many people without an interest in politics could name another member of ukip?

The rumour about Farage is that in the plane crash he had on the last Election Day he was more badly injured than he let on and is pretty reliant on painkillers to get through the day.

If he doesn't win tonight then he'll quit politics and just do occasional media stuff instead.

He has committed to resign. Suzanne Evans is a much less divisive figure and could lead them from lots of 2nd places to more seats in 2020. We could be looking at lib, lab and ukip leadership contests soon. Will have a better idea after Nuneaton at 1am

Swindon. Labour vote hurt more than con vote by ukip. Could be a big factor that polls missed
