Bhutan, the lowest ranked international football side in the world, have just won a World Cup qualifier beating Sri Lanka 1-0, it's their first win since beating Afghanistan in 2008.

Was going to post the picture of Wayne Rooney, but a bit of delving assures me that he was sparked last month.

Instead, I saw this photo today, taken in Reykjavik, where there is a chess tournament going on at the moment. A wonderful picture of a storm. So much going on.

I thought that was the nut worst post-race interview ever ever ever.

F1 seems to have decided to get some sort of celeb to do these interviews. It was about as interesting as the race.

Now, if they want someone to do those interviews, & increase the audience, I know exactly the right person.

Easily my favourite news story of the week.

PS Andy Hocking (52), a regular "beat bobby" in the town of Falmouth, Cornwall for 20 years, died of natural causes a week earlier. He was so well-known & popular that the locals organised a procession & gathering in the town in his honour. 6,000 people took part.

Things must be very different in Cornwall that the community held a policeman in such high regard.

Wonderful.

The Shire Horse Society annual affair takes place this weekend in Grantham.

They have some big buggers there, look at the neck on this one.

Even to casual followers of football, to watch Messi last night was something to savour, he gave a mesmerising performance.

Players on both teams were arguing, fouling, play acting theatrically & stupidly, but the great man just got on with the job.

I doubt there has even been a better footballer, & it's a pleasure to watch & admire as he weaves his magic.

Andy was a traditional "bobby on the beat" always had a smile and time for a chat with everyone. His beat was the Main Street of Falmouth which encompassed the main shopping area so he was a real local face.
He lived in Penryn about 5 minutes from where I lived and on occasions I would pick him up early mornings as he walked his way to the Police station to start his day and I was on the way to the rank in Falmouth.

I was really shocked when I read of his passing on FB and then followed the unfolding story of the march that was organised in his memory and it really reminded me of the community spirit that exists in Falmouth pretty much the same in other parts of Cornwall as well.

I feel privalaged to have known Andy even if only in a small capacity, he will truly be missed by the people of Penryn and Famouth.

RIP Andy

You knew him? Wow, what a small world.

It was easily my favourite story of the week, on so many levels, though nobody else seemed much impressed judging by (lack of) feedback.
