Two EU sources say UK discreetly asked about extending Brexit transition beyond Dec 31 2020. The EU said 'no'.

The UK government categorically denies this exchange ever happened. My latest.

And some brief observations. /1

Bad development for ukip.

Arron Banks has emailed all LeaveEUOfficial members urging them to quit ukip and join the Tories to influence the Brexit negotiations

Have Leavers changed their minds about the economic effects of Brexit?

Very slight shift. But still 80% say economy will be better off/Brexit will make no difference

(And, of course, this was never an economic vote to begin with) https://t.co/EXWBTkucnb

Meanwhile, Remainers are still absolutely convinced that the Brexit vote will leave Britain's economy "worse off" https://t.co/i2GrxnznTT

Brexit’s other looming cliff edge – The loss of EU funding used to help poorer parts of the UK has had far less attention than other ill effects of Brexit.

But it will soon be hard to ignore the problem.
