No Deal no longer “unlikely” - Government

Government has in past 24 hours quietly edited every No Deal technical notice to take out word “unlikely” from the sentence “in the unlikely event of no deal...”

Now says “in the event of no deal”.

See before and after on medicines

This is typical scaremongering.

As someone that pops 20 odd post transplant pills, many of which are manufactured abroad, I have spent time with each of my suppliers who confirm this effectively means very little. I know my medication, it doesnt need to pass any additional checks, business as usual(maybe more expensive, if tariffs are imposed-doesnt affect me directly), even if we hit worse case scenario.

I am reporting a fact, the government have changed their no deal notices to remove the word unlikely

ergo they consider it more likely

how likely you think it is and how you do or do not wish to prepare is up to you

Do the Government know what is really happening? No.

That's a fact.

I have spoken to the PROFESSIONALS, and they seem to be very clear that I don't need to worry, so I think I will trust them at this point in time.

But thank you for your concern. Smiley

"Do the Government know what is really happening? No"

Just as well they have no big decisions to make or pass through parliament then and of course even better that they don't have to instruct the professionals as to the final outcome

I mean its just laughable, it really is

I think it’s wise to remove words such as likely or unlikely because it’s suggestive, it’s opinion, it’s speculation

In the event of is factual

You cannot conclude removing unlikely means something is more likely it’s just a more factual statement

If unlikely was replaced with likely you could draw that conclusion

But carry on...

All I know is that I just can't see a scenario, where if it all goes tits up, that I am living in a Walking Dead type landscape, breaking into pharmacists trying to get my hands on drugs trying to keep me alive.

Is that what you are anticipating? It sort of sounds like you might be alluding to this type of Armagedon*

Watched this last night for about the 5th time. Still a great film. Go Bruce!!

I think you said before that you're diabetic Adz? No concerns at all about the number of insulin manufacturing facilities in the UK being fewer than 1? Something that is difficult to store and mostly comes through Dover?

I enjoy that film too

Not anticipating the walking dead, no. If it happens,i would be anticipating delays, shortages and (least important) price increases

i would also have doubts about how efficiently our people would put in place the longer term arrangements fur future trading relationships so would be especially concerned once stockpiles have been depleted

The government and industry is stockpiling. That is a fact, no inverted commas.

On the upside,if a deal gets done there is going to be a lot of discounted (previously stockpiled) product to be sold after March 2019

In the event of any uncertainty people innately stockpile

What stockpiling proves is there is uncertainty

Yes, and the government is prudent to instruct key industries to do so

Doesn't mean, as some are wont to do on here, that the risks of why they are stockpiling should be summarily dismissed

No deal, as a reminder, is the default option on 29/3/19. In a deadlocked parliament which might not pass anything, No deal happens

It is prudent and it shouldn’t be dismissed

Shouldn’t be compared to Armageddon, Hell’s Fire or a plague of locusts either

A Twitter account called @Deaf, run by a woman who, it seems, is the bees knees, & probably runs LipReaders4U, wrote this on Twitter;

Ah well.  If someone on twitter said it then the case is closed.  “Take it from a professional”.  Lol.

She will be claiming Kush didnt call Mantis a ***** next Wink

This needed more love, very funny indeed.

Nothing more from me today. Then an apology, then a hopefully constructive and positive explanation why I’d like the ban to be permanent.
