The more that we see Leadsom (and the political manoeuvrings behind the voting), the more I can see her winning.

She performed well in the TV debates.

Just been on Marr show, appears to be the type of candidate Brexit supporters can unite around.

I missed Leadsom, but Gove doesn't look particularly statesmanlike right now on Marr

Gove interview on Marr fascinating.

Wants to launch a war on "undeserved rich".

He knows he cant win. Guess he'll get behind Leadsom at some point.

EDIT : Agreed, he didn't look statesmanlike at all. Don't think he cares though.

Andy Burnham ‏@andyburnhammp

I have shadowed both Gove & May. No question in my mind who's the better politician & person. Hope the Tories go for Gove.

So next week is 'Season 2 of UK politics is bonkers', I reckon the Chilcott thing is going to bring us lots of twists and turns.

Never watched Peston on Sunday before, there is little wonder Theresa May chose to go on that instead of Marr, its like Soccer Am by comparison to a Marr grilling.

Brexit voters are not thick, not racist: just poor http://specc.ie/29gwa8e

The vast majority of poor people are thick, that is surely obvious but people are too scared to say it.

If they were intelligent, they would better themselves, get an education, then secure a decent job and no longer be poor.

(It clearly isn't that easy, but I'm making a point)

Put more simply, there is a direct correlation between how intelligent you are and how much money is in your current account.

Inherited wealth is the big stumbling block clearly, otherwise I think the graph (wealth on the x axis, IQ on the y axis) would be a smooth line running upwards at 45 degrees.

I've heard it said on here before it was all luck/variance etc

Its assumed that if corbyn makes it to wednesday he'll be able to turn such fire on the blairite wing of the party that the heat will come off him for a while (its also assumed that whoever is next leader cannot have voted for Iraq)

its going to be a barnstormer of a day though

Mark Urban ‏@MarkUrban01

One of the senior military who will be criticised by Chilcot tells me the report 'a fiasco' that had taken too long to have any relevance

I disagree.

I think the vast majority of poor people are that way because from childhood they don't have the same opportunities, education, or high achieving role models within their peer group

Take any child from a poor family at birth and foster it with an upper middle class family, by the time it leaves school it will be indistinguishable from other upper middle class children. That wouldn't be the case if it was thick.

Was Jamie Gold the best poker player in the world the year he won the WSOP main event?

For one individual there is almost infinite variance. Chris Moorman has never won a bracelet. Brian Wilson has.

60 million is a pretty big sample size. There is no variance there.

Fair point.

But poor people in this country do have a chance to improve their lot. I'm not saying it's easy.

But if their motivation (and intelligence) is great enough, they can and will.
